Just an update from a previous post when I installed Nokon cables on my Record 10 Pinarello. You may recall, I complained about the cost, fickle installation and less than precise shifting. I received a brand new set of stock Campy 10 cables and housing when I purchased levers for my b-bike. I installed the new cables on my A bike and slapped the Nokon's on my b-bike. With the Campy cables I now remember the light action, speed and precision that I was missing when the Nokon's were being used. The Campy housing is certainly heavier and more rigid, but the performance is far superior. On a related note, if you have a bar with dual cable grooves, the Campy cables really are a little two rigid to make the bend from the back of the shift lever and around the outside of the bar. I got them to hold with about a half a role of electrical tape, but next time I purchase a bar, I'm going with the single deeper front groove. I believe it makes for a cleaner installation and a more comfy grip on the bar top. Of course I still drool over some of the carbon bars with flat top sections and internal cable guides. Chris, if you're wondering about a X-mas present, a 3TTT More carbon bar in a 46 would make for a nice gift... (hint..).
