Cycling Weekly sits down with former pro Paul Kimmage to catch up with the man who broke the pro scene's code of silence by lifting the lid on some of the sport's doping practices.
His 1990 book "Rough Ride" lost him many friends in the peloton (they accused him of "spitting in the soup") but as time has gone on, many of the secrets Kimmage wrote about have revealed themselves.
In this interview, Kimmage says "professional cycling is totally rotten," but adds that he did see some things in last year's Tour de France that "were encouraging me to believe in it again."
Kimmage is now an award-winning sports journalist who writes for the Sunday Times newspaper in the United Kingdom.
