here are some stupid ones . . .
How do you manage consistent eating habits while on the road all the time?

How slow are recovery rides for you?

..if it is not too late
How does he see the progression of the domestic racing scene over the last few years and what does next year look to hold?

Ask BJM
if he'd ever consider spending some time in Europe doing the cross scene like Ryan Trebon is doing.

I'm guessing no since he's had a break out year on the road and it's a long season, but I'd love to see him do it anyway. He was the bomb in Transition (and you can tell him that too).

Thanks

it is done
I got some 'cross questions in as well as some really interesting stuff on the domestic scene, but missed the first one on recovery rides and eating habits - that would have been awesome.

I'm guessing PEZ won't put the WHOLE thing up since I talked to him for 45 minutes, but I'll probably put the whole thing up here when I get through transcribing it all. Ouch.

He had some really interesting things to say about next year's California route - look for that tomorrow in my preview for TOCA on PEZ.

Thanks again for the help - I'll remember to get the question up for help earlier in the future. Next stop Jonathan Page I hope.

i missed this one!!!
I would have asked how he felt about the decision at the TdC last year when they let Levi end up with the same time as the finisher, when he crashed 10 kms out!

don't you worry
Don't worry, he commented on it without any prodding. It was pretty funny.

Here is the excerpt actually, since I just transcribed it:

I haven't had that passion for cycling for a little while now, and I think I really refound it. Unfortunately it was because things happened in races that really pissed me off. Tour of California this year, the crash in Santa Rosa was a good example for me. I could have taken the leader's jersey in the race if the organizers hadn't instigated the 9k rule instead of the 3k rule and that got me pissed off.

It made me want to prove all spring that my placings weren't a fluke, I wanted to prove to the doubters and the people who made that decision that I would have been a deserving wearer of the leader's jersey at a premier stage race in America, and also my hometown, home state race.

That would have been one of those pinnacle things in my career that I could look back on. It just gives me more fire to do better in the Prologue this year and try the same thing and take a time bonus if it's there. Try and get that leader's jersey at the Tour of California. I don't know if the opportunity will present itself, but that's something that could really motivate me to do well again at the race this year.
