Paris Roubaix 2007--DVD Quality!

I just got my spring classics DVDs from WCP and plopped down on the couch to watch Paris Roubaix and was quite pleasantly surprised.

I believe prior years' DVDs were produced from SD quality source material, the 2007 edition appears to be derived from HD source material. The picture is not HD, but it is as clear as any widescreen DVD I've seen.

The color of the peloton pops. It's a great visual feast compared to the fuzzy images presented by Versus and cycling.tv.

The 5-race '07 Spring race 4-dvd set that
is on "special" right now at WCP is number one on my Wish List for Christmas.  I hope Santa uses the item number and website address I left him on the kitchen table a few weeks ago...

no problem
I'll probably watch it a few times while on the trainer, etc... then I can ship it off.

The race coverage, from a story telling point-of-view, is pretty hard to follow. I recall watching it live and being bewildered by the action.

There is minimal coverage of the suicidal breakaway that actually set the rest of the race up; with the cameras focused on the chase groups all the time (Boonen, Cance, etc... were there).

Maybe I was just distracted looking for the ingredients that were so fatal to Boonen's shorts. Maybe a soapy water bottle?

I think
by "done with it" Drew meant leave it to him in your will. I wouldn't expect anything more.

I received
Tete de la Course and The Greatest Show on Earth for Christmas. I have lots to barter with....which reminds me, I also got the Simpson's Movie.

Chris, I'll trade you something for the Pantani book. I'm kind of intrigued since I know nothing about his early years.

A sunday in Hell...
is on my wish list.

I pointed it out to my wife out of the WCP catalog.

Now let's see if she was actually listening to me.

Not as far as you know
Just got Tete de la Course last night as a b-day present. And since we have 25" of snow already on the ground I think it's safe to say I will be on the trainer for most of the winter.

Now, if only the rest of the family will come through on Christmas with the rest of the WCP wish list..............

A frozen 'cross ride from this last weekend. As you may be aware we have had siberian conditions here in the UK with a low of -14 degrees centigrade here on saturday morning. It was a beautiful sunny morning so i layered up and set off for a snowy 'cross ride along a roman road. I checked the thermometer when i got back to find it had been -10 throughout the ride! I had a lot of fun though and the views were spectacular.
