Around SBN: NFL Roundtable: Which Draft Pick Is Most Likely To Bust?

And now for something completely different!

I've been talking with my friend who built our cyclingsite. There's a good chance that a special Tour de France competition site shall be built. Maybe some of you know us already, most of you won't.

Star-divide

That's when i thought of the Podium Café and all you cyclingmad VDS DS-ses. :-)
Naturally we'll build the site in the Dutch language (There's about 3,000 entries every year), but i've got most of the texts already translated and ready to use for any English speaking participant to use.

Would you be interested in making your Tour de France an even greater experience than it already is? Just a short explanation of what we do:

We should be offering at least two different competitions, maybe three. You'll need to design a team for each stage, so it does require some attention each day (As if you don't watch it every day...)
You'd even be able to do all the smacktalk live or discuss riders/teams in an integrated chatroom during or before/after the stages. Our historic database on the Tour would be at your disposal as well, dating back quite a few years. There will also be a forum available to ask any questions you might have etc. etc.
We'll provide all the nitty gritty on the track and profiles, all of our own design, in English.

To make a long story short:
If you're interested, just post a message here. By the time it's certain the competition will take place i'll spread the word myself, or maybe Chris has another way of getting the message out since i don't have your E-mail adresses.

By no means is this an attempt to "steal" Podium Café members. Nor is this meant as spamming the Café.
My only intention is to get the competition as international as possible. And since i consider this to be the most fun non-Dutch cycling community around, I naturally thought of you guys.
Yet, our huge prize should win anyone over.... Eternal fame goes a long way with us! ;-)

If you got any other questions, i'll be happy to answer them, as long as you don't want the full rulebook. Just post your message, i'll answer it. :-)

Sounds cool!
And I have no qualms about advertising your competition. The rising tide lifts all boats.

Great Chris
Hoped it wouldn't offend you guys, i appreciate it.
btw:
Forgot to mention: It won't cost a thing to enter the competition, neither are we linked to any obscure database that will haunt your E-mail boxes... ;-)

I'm There
You know Team Hauey will be there.  It would be nice to see some more stateside flags in the standings list.

Fantastic offer
And thank you for including us.

I have to mull over actually joining in, since I'm pretty sure it will occupy my entire July, and that could affect my a) marriage b) job c) mental state and d) time on the bike.

If I can balance two of the four I'm in ;-)

Sur la Plaque!

Scanning through the "Big Photographs" from today's stage 7 of the Giro on Steephill (worth a look after every stage) and I noticed, on this image - whose caption describes "Niemec about to launch Lampre-ISD teammate Michele Scarponi on the steepest (10%) part of the climb" - that both Lampre cyclists are in the big chain ring.

Let me repeat that. 10% slope. Business end of stage 7 of the Giro. Big Chain Ring!
