The Hard Men of Flanders Photo Exhibit

Blink, and just might miss the best photo collection about cycling in Flanders. A stunning online collection of contemporary B&W photographs by Stephan Vanfleteren transcends typical race photography, and examines the region, the fans, and the cyclists close up.

Brilliant stuff. Don't miss it. Just don't.

Hard Men of Flanders photo exhibit

Star-divide

The picture of Eddy Merckx alone is worth the price of admission (which is free, so what are you waiting for?):

Also included are portraits of Tom Boonen, Freddy Maertens -- even Rik Van Steenbergen. Star power aside, the best photos are those of the fans and race-day antics.

It's some of the most impressive cycling-related photography I've seen, if this were a book I would have ordered it already.

Not to be missed.

there is something rather haunting about Kolln's Basso portait. Ivan looks like he knows what's coming.

Great stuff. TV doesn't often
do justice to how God-awfull the cobbles of Roubaix are.  The photo's capture it to a tee.
I liked the one of Johan's knee.
