OLN Canada to cover another Tour de France

for those of us who were stressed with the name change of the American affiliate without corresponding changes here at home.

Fear not...!

Speaking of Canada
I was just in Ottawa for business this week. What a lovely city!

I had a chance to walk around and see the sights a little. I wished I'd brought my bike. It looks like an ideal place to live.

it is the capital of Canada
-- and with the amount of taxes we pay, it better look lovely.

It had the government paid look
that's for sure. I guess it's easy to be public spirited when it's with other people's money.

But seriously, it looked like a very liveable, well put together town. Not too big, but very lively.

yes, not too big--
which is why I live in Edmonton

BUT...! There's been so much economic growth in Western Canada that my sleepy little city is rapidly turning itself into a sprawling monster, in fact, it was featured on Bloomberg news the other day as the fastest growing city in North America.

That's shitty some someone like me who has (had) these nice 100km+ cycling routes where I've been training for years without much of a fight with traffic. Now there's subdivisions popping up everywhere, along with the semis/dump-trucks and the soul destroying congestion that goes with it.
