Around SBN: Clippers Need To Realize That Spurs Are The Anti-Grizzlies

Tour de l'Avenir

I've only been following the results, but tomorrow is supposed to be the big up hill finish.  This is a U23 race with National teams instead of trade teams.

A Tunisian rider won the ITT and there is some question about how much he will race/eat due to the upcoming start of Ramadan (I don't know the dates).  Also, Craig Lewis of the USA (also Slipstream/Chiplote) is in 5th place.

Star-divide

If I am correct, Lewis is the rider that crashed badly in the Tour of Georgia a few years ago when a car pulled onto the course.  I don't think he has a contract for next year yet, but it looks like he is doing a great race.

I don't know of any coverage of this race other than the reports from cyclingnews, but it has been interesting to read about.

Ramadan
You can drink water, right? And is it really blasphemous if there are some carbs in that water? I'm not a theologian, but it's worth asking...

Sur la Plaque!

Scanning through the "Big Photographs" from today's stage 7 of the Giro on Steephill (worth a look after every stage) and I noticed, on this image - whose caption describes "Niemec about to launch Lampre-ISD teammate Michele Scarponi on the steepest (10%) part of the climb" - that both Lampre cyclists are in the big chain ring.

Let me repeat that. 10% slope. Business end of stage 7 of the Giro. Big Chain Ring!
