'I'll be back.'

Just a phrase out of a bad movie. Think a lot of cyclist have seen this movie and get their inspiration out of it. Lance, Landis, Basso Rasmussen(?), and the one how I forgot. Now how do you miss their. Indeed Vinokourov. His suspension ended this summer and now he want to come back. Kazach's politicans support him and why not? He made a ridicolous stupid mistake in the Tour. No doubt about that but he could win the Tour and his dream ended with the fall(when Rabo and Liqui were hitting the peddels like nuts) If you are desperate you make such decisions. But back on track he loved to come back by Astana. His goals in 2009 are the Giro and the WK. Nice battle between Basso and Vino their. In 2010 his goal is the Tour again. He is 37 then? Nothing to worry about. Joop zoetemelk won the WK on the age of 38 or something. He has some time left.

Other source and sport24.com (Nothing on l'equipe yet. They reported something about Vino a couple of days ago)

p.s. Just imagine Vino in the Giro. Always in the attack but always fail if it's going up more then 10% for more then 3 km. In the chase trying to come back with his Kazachisch face full of pain but determination. Just a beutifull prospect or..

Hey time has been paid, come on back i say... what an interesting Giro

Not only does contador have to race against Mr Media (Lance), but chicken as well

Contador will succeed, bring on all who challenge…

L'Equipe has only a short piece on their website

I imagine the rest is in print:

“After having announced his retirement in December, Alexander Vinokourov will announce his return to competition according to Saturday’s L’Equipe. Suspended for doping until the 24 July last year, the Kazakh will probably wear the jersey of "the team of his heart”, Astana. The return of Lance Armstrong and the arrival of the American at Astana appears to have inspired the former winner of the Vuelta."

So now who gets to be team leader? Can’t we just set Astana off on their own little Tour one day before everyone else. After taking away anything sharp or metallic.

Here's my conspiracy theory:

“Man holding Astana bag of money” to Johan Bruyneel: “Sure you can bring your old friend LA onboard next year as long as you accept our old friend Vino on as well”

The chances of these people telekomming each other is growing by the minute.

UCI said they accepted the 1-year ban as long as Vinkourov retired

so I can’t see him riding until AFTER 2009 Tour.

by King of Doping on Oct 4, 2008 8:30 AM EDT   0 recs

Yeah t(h)ough that so but

the term in which you can complain against the offence is retired. (Can xplain it in proper English) Which means Vino has a lot of brains and the UCI is stupid as hell.

sorry to write over this. I didn’t see it.

the money behind Astana is as shady as is comes

goes to show that Contador, Horner and Levi had no real options last year and that they are all money whores.

Objection!.

“I’ll be back” Should have been reserved for the true Terminator’s return, Jan Ulrich. :(

There’s too much elastic to Vino’s riding style; I’m back, I’m ahead, I’m behind, I’m ahead again, I’m out, I’m a tactical genius, no wait I’m not, but I’m ahead, oh I’m riding the wrong way… I just noticed that I’m not funny, sorry about that.

Ulrich is much more like the terminator because he can switch off his brain and just grind off a mountain wall(edge) without getting a scratch.

by OctaBech on Oct 4, 2008 1:45 PM EDT   0 recs

Sorry for that.

The real terminator is not coming back.
