Cyclocross: Superprestige live webcast!
The Superprestige cyclocross series, starting this Sunday, Oct. 12, will be broadcast live at no charge by the Belgium television channel VT4.
The races will be webcast on www.vt4.be. Philippe Maertens will give live commentary.
In Ruddervoorde, the race starts at 5 p.m. (11 a.m. EST) local time. In Diegem the start is at 5:30 p.m. (11:30 a.m. EST) All other races start at 3 p.m. (9 a.m. EST), with the broadcast beginning a half hour before the start.
And that's great news for us CX fans. And even better news is that it's at a sane hour for us west-coasters.

Oh dammit!
We’re having guests over on Sunday. Craaaaaaaaaaaap.
In other reactions – excellent! Hopefully this will happen more than once.

Belgie TV is carrying the whole series (all 8 races). All the more reason to love Belgium………like you needed one.

Ok, I'm now going to shock you all by revealing that I have NEVER seen a cyclocross race, live or otherwise.
But I shall now aim to put that to rights. But not this Sunday as I’ll be at Cycle 08, our version of Interbike :-)
me neither .. never seen it
looks like fun
do they have events for old slow guys?

You better believe it
It will be a Masters race of some age group, but us old guys are fit. At our national championships they had at least a 75+ class. Impressive when you consider that part of the race involves running with your bike over hurdles and at least once uphill.
Cross is easily the best viewed of all cycling disciplines. If it’s a well laid out course you can usually see at least 70% of it from one spot, and you can dash back and forth between really good sections. It’s basically a criterium + steeplechase + mt, bike race = 45 or 60 minutes (depending on your category). I highly recommend going to one if you can, you’ll enjoy the hell out of yourself.

The fun part is when they have the barrier on an uphill.
It rained earlier in the race for the one I was at so the up hill was pretty slick. They went up and then turned around and came back down.

Went to my first Cross race this past Sunday.
It was a good time and friends and I hope to try and get to most of the series here.
Below is a shot of Mike from xXX racing who came in 2nd in his race. :-)

Canadian national cross championships
are here (ie. where I live) tomorrow, will be going to watch barring any unexpected circumstances … the preliminary start list from Oct 5 has Geoff Kabush riding on the men’s side, Wendy Simms on the women’s side.
K-Bob and Simms should most likely take it. Is Peter Wedge racing on the men's side?
Remember – more cowbell.

more cowbell...
as long as you’re not near the finish line for a criterium, read somewhere not long ago how that sends the riders into a frenzy because they think there’s a prime coming up ;-) .
final startlist here , don’t see Wedge listed – but defending champ Mike Garrigan will be there, so probably a battle between him and Kabush.
The guys and gals at the race today I went to
loved the cheers and cowbells at the top of a nasty hill. They had to go up the side, straight down, quick turn, over a barrier, back up, another quick turn and back down. The first couple laps there were some smiles. By the 3rd on, no one was smiling as they got to the top. Great spot to watch from though as you got to see them come up twice and then head back down and could see pretty much the entire course from up there. Loads of fun – well at least for those of us watching!

cyclocross is great fun to watch!
I went to a race a few years back. It was in December i think, and the course was mostly covered in snow!
