The 2009 Larry H. Miller Tour of Utah
August 18, Prologue: This first day features a 1.4 mile uphill course in the heart of downtown Salt Lake City. A perfect event to establish the race's first leaders.
August 19, Stage One: Ogden to Salt Lake With a fast start at Ogden Canyon, riders will face two tough climbs and 82 miles with an exciting finish at Research Park in Salt Lake City.
August 20, Stage Two: Thanksgiving Point to Mount Nebo A new stage this year, Thanksgiving Point to Nebo is a mostly flat course with the exception of a grueling 20 mile climb to the finish.
August 21, Stage Three: Miller Motorsports Park Individual Time Trial A 10-mile time trial on a loop course starting and finishing at the Miller Motorsports Park, a world-class race track, in Tooele, Utah.
August 22, Stage Four: Park City to Snowbird The "Queen Stage," with a mountaintop finish following five fierce climbs. From Park City, through the outskirts of Salt Lake to Snowbird Ski Resort-a road race of 99 mountainous miles.
August 23, Stage Five: Salt Lake Downtown Criterium The downtown Salt Lake criterium is a 90-minute race around a flat, four-cornered track around the City County building and Library Square. Fast and furious, the circuit is one mile in length. After 90 minutes, the winner's have completed nearly 40 miles.
The prolog could be really interesting depending upon where they put it... I suspect it'll go round the capitol somewhere. Stage 1 looks to be the same as stage two from this year. Stage two has a sting in the tail for sure. ITT goes to mid week. Queen stage will still be the epic Saturday in the Wasatch. Looks like they realy liked the turn out for the crit this year, so it's the final stage for '09. It'll be a four square cornered event in the heart of town, and dead flat.
Lyne, it looks like they have a new media coordinator too...

good question...
I do not know yet what it’s classification is. If it remains a NRC race then Pro Tour teams will be excluded and Garmin will not be back.

It's an NRC event this year.
The Tour of New York is part of the 2009 USA Cycling Professional Tour (UCI events), but the Larry H. Miller Tour of Utah is not.
Still, this looks like a respectable event. Let’s hope their rolling enclosures are a little tighter and that Lyne gets a ride on a moto this year.

imo not every race in the US should aspire to be on the UCI calendar
NRC races are great and need more exposure and are a great avenue to see North American teams.
Also, proTour riders can race in NRC races if they want to – remember Horner racing in the US last July?
Pro Tour riders can participate...
but don’t they have essentially be “free agents” since I thought that Pro Tour teams could not race down as it were… It’s for sure a respectable event, take one look at the profiles of 2,3 and 5…
I’m going as far as to bribe a friend to bring his BMW up form Breckenridge, so I get my ride….

Could the younger Slipstream team do it then?

I dunno what level of competition U-23 D-teams can take part I assume yes they can.
From USAC: The NRCs are open to all UCI teams, as well as USAC men and women. Individual points will be kept for men and women. Professional and amateur men will not be ranked separately.
