Cycling.TV is finally working like it's supposed to, meaning I'm actually able to view it. Today's WC race is from Pijnacker, Holland. The women just finshed up, with German Hanka Kupfernagel besting Katie Comton of the US by 8 seconds in a really well fought race. Compton blew it up on lap 1 and had a 20 second lead on Kupfernagel after 1 and was riding very strongly. But the a combination of a bad bike change, skipped changes by Kupfernagel (allowing her to gain precious seconds) and a 4th lap crash resulted in that final 8 second gap.Compton has not been racing for the last 3 weeks or so as she's been trying to sort out a mysterious muscle issue in her legs. From all evidence it looks like she's got it fixed, especially considering Kupfernagel is the current world champ and world cup leader. I hope the rest of the season is this competitive.
Men start in about 20 minutes, with Anthony and Brian calling the action.
