It's that time of year - awards time!

PrintFollowing on the heels of last week's Swiss Sportsperson of the Year ceremony, which saw a dazzlingly dressed Fabian Cancellara beat two-time winner Roger Federer to the title, tonight we had the Sports Personality of the Year Award (or SPOTY as it's known) here in the UK and what a night it was for cycling!!
The GB Olympic Cycling team got the Team of the Year award, their main coach David Brailsford won the Coach of the Year award and they also won the big award with the Sports Personality of the Year Award going to Chris Hoy (and 3 other cyclists made the final 10 list which was brilliant)

(the 80 year old guy two doors down just broke his hip, so my biggest threat was sidelined)

I didn’t break any rules. I held my line. Not my fault we were entering a traffic circle and he got confused.
It's great.
I never thought I’d see the day when the British public would vote for a cyclist in this way! Perhaps they’ll learn to love road cycling at some point too….

As the article on the Saxobank team site says, you know Cancellara isn’t going to be a wallflower at something like this and the white suit certainly meant he stood out, bless him. I love his sense of humour about the whole thing :)

It's not just white
it’s white with white brocade. I have no idea where he could find such a suit, or why.
