Leogrande will not be on the 2009 team roster, but said the decision was performance based and not due to the doping case.

Yeah, but if you don't know cycling ...

You might want who Jaen is.

Today, I raced à la Chavanel, and I succeeded.

Beautiful qoute from Ullrich

about LA in CN

“He runs marathons, changes women and still can’t find what he is looking for. I can imagine that he needs cycling again, to find his fulfilment. He certainly won’t return to finish second.”

Jan seems to have a ton of respect fo LA so it surely wasn’t meant in an insulting way, but the way it came out was funny.

Jan playing amateur psychologist?

Man, is that fraught with irony. Still, I don’t disagree.

(small) rant of the day

I went to Peets to have a coffee and settle in for a serious blogging session. Because, you know, blogging is serious. First, there weren’t any tables, though fortunately, a nice guy in a tie (usually a sign of un-creepyness around here) was willing to share. But then, disaster struck. No internet. What?! The internet isn’t working? Gaaaah. So I poured my coffee into a to go cup, yum paper, hopped on my townie, and rode back home, with my laptop in my wicker basket and carrying a full cup of coffee.

Mission so not accomplished.

Weird...

as soon as I read “wicker basket”, I pictured flying monkeys in my head (and, of course, the accompanying flying monkey theme).

The horror

After riding her bike all the way to Peet’s to blog, Gav is rewarded with no internet… and now, cold coffee?… how does she endure such atrocities? I will tell you how…. one word… “character”. And here’s another word… “moxie”. Not sure what that one means, but she’s got it in spades… Gav, you are truly an inspiration to us all.

It's true

I don’t like to throw around the word “hero” too loosely, but come on.

you forgot

it was foggy and cold. and uphill both ways.

lol, actually there is a climb to the gav shack which is just enough to be challenging riding the townie one-handed with a cup of coffee.

such oppression ;-)

Funny how your story includes "foggy and cold"

where any of us in the midwest, or maybe anyone in the northern states have stories that include 10 feet of snow with no shoes, up hills, both ways. ha ha.

If it is at all possible, yes

Also, don’t attempt to negotiate any payraises by yourself, unless you can live on less than what you are currently earning.

Hello?

Is this AS-dot-com? Bueno! I’ve been trying to get through to you for, like, two months now. You see, way back on October 2nd, you published an article about Frank Schleck and his payment to Fuentes? Remember? Yeah, well, the photo accompanying the piece is not of Frank Schleck.…Yes, I know, it was labeled “Schleck” in your archives, but it’s actually of the other…How many cyclists named “Schleck” can there be? Two. There are two. And it’s really not fair to picture Andy with this story when he’s not the one who…Yes, there’s some resemblance, but you really can tell them apart if you…Yes, I did leave a comment on the page, but it apparently was never approved for…Yes, I know I left a comment, because when I tried to do it again later I got a message saying I could only leave a comment one…Oh, come on—in two months you couldn’t find anyone to pull the picture and replace it with one of Frank?

Hello? Hello?

A frozen 'cross ride from this last weekend. As you may be aware we have had siberian conditions here in the UK with a low of -14 degrees centigrade here on saturday morning. It was a beautiful sunny morning so i layered up and set off for a snowy 'cross ride along a roman road. I checked the thermometer when i got back to find it had been -10 throughout the ride! I had a lot of fun though and the views were spectacular.
