Way of the Cross: A Contest!

A bit too silly for the main column... [editor's note, by chris] Saturday will be quiet, so here's some light fare, reposted.

With four days a few hours remaining before de Ronde, it's still theoretically possible to talk about the race without hushed tones and mental images of suffering. In that spirit, I propose a contest. Five VDS points to the winner. Exhibit A:

Only those who are in top condition can say that the Ronde is not hard. For everyone else, it's the Way of the Cross. -Andrea Tafi

The Contest: I know Drew doesn't like to see these hallowed words magled, but I'm sure he'll appreciate the spirit. So, see if you can switch out some of the nouns in Tafi's binary concept to make another true statement, if not quite as grave. An example:

Only those who eat carefully can say that bike racing is not hard. For people who are addicted to Mexican food, it's the Way of the Cross.

Ok, have at it.

Vote for me!
My comment was brilliant!  Hidden among the earlier comments, then lost almost becuase the thread was sliding into obscurity before it was rescued, my comment was overlooked because of it's sly brilliance, which made it almost hard to understand because of it's subtle brilliance, being a simply  brilliant comment,  You have to admit, it is worthy of the five VDS points.  And the reason you have to admit it is worth those five VDS points, is because of my sucky sucky non-brilliant team which if it was last year would be a good team.

So, no point anyone else answering, the five VDS points belong to ME! ME!  bwahahaha

Oh, gosh, sorry blush nevermind.

One observation
ESPN has exactly zero articles on the Tour of Flanders.

Conclusion: ESPN is not a serious sports medium.

A frozen 'cross ride from this last weekend. As you may be aware we have had siberian conditions here in the UK with a low of -14 degrees centigrade here on saturday morning. It was a beautiful sunny morning so i layered up and set off for a snowy 'cross ride along a roman road. I checked the thermometer when i got back to find it had been -10 throughout the ride! I had a lot of fun though and the views were spectacular.
