I'm heading to Belmont Station tonight to lay in a cache, and your votes will determine (in part) what I'm drinking in the morning. Looks tasty
But I'm shying away from drinking THAT much THAT early in the AM. It is Flanders, after all, but if the girlfriend wakes up to find me blitzed at 7am, I'll be in trouble until way past Liege.

Excellent link!
With that in mind, I should just pop open one of the New Belgium 1554's already in my fridge.

I think I'll go w/ Hoegaarden, it seems like a 4am beer from the descriptions. My own experience w/ 4am beers is mostly in the past and then come at the end of a bender, not the beginning.

I've put a lot of thought into My Plan
for tomorrow morning, as you will see:
-Since the local start time is 5:50am, and (from experience) it will take me a while to get into c.tv (requiring numerous closings and openings of my browser, and multiple uses of the f-word,) I've decided to start off my drinking with a nice Bloody Mary with a Leffe chaser.
-Hubby has been dispatched Way Up North to the cabin, to enjoy ice fishing with the Buddies on the 2 feet of ice left on the lakes, so I won't get any criticism from the peanut gallery.  I planned this trip for him ahead of time, a few months ago, so he's thinking I'm a great gal who supports my spouse's hobby.  I did tell him that it was the week of the RVV and PR, so he knows there's some self-interest involved, but I baked him cookies for the weekend, and he's a happy guy.
-My Bloody Mary will consist of Absolut and the "Rich and Sassy" flavor of Famous Dave's BM mix.  Trust me, it's very, very good.  Garnishing my drink are home-made spicy Dilly Beans (canned them myself) and Better Than Sex garlic-stuffed giant olives (that's the real name of them, not an editorial.)
-The Leffe chaser will be poured into the correct Belgian glass, as it should be.  There are four of them in the 'fridge, so I hope that's enough.
-And the post-race celebration will involve a nice nap.  Hubby gets home Monday.

Life is Good.

Oh, K-berg, forgive me,
in my ecstacy, I forgot to give you my choice for you:  go for the Leffe Brune (6.5%, as opposed to the Blonde 6.6%.  That extra less % will give you more staying-power for watching the race!)

I'd make that drive!
I could bring a really good homemade bloody mary mix too. Should we put a jar of olives in vodka (solid soaking time) now for the drinks?

A frozen 'cross ride from this last weekend. As you may be aware we have had siberian conditions here in the UK with a low of -14 degrees centigrade here on saturday morning. It was a beautiful sunny morning so i layered up and set off for a snowy 'cross ride along a roman road. I checked the thermometer when i got back to find it had been -10 throughout the ride! I had a lot of fun though and the views were spectacular.
