2.0 Starts...NOW!
Welcome to the new Podium Cafe. Come on in, make yourself at home...
See the post below for how-to stuff. Oh, and don't bother with the Pozzato gag, Lyne beat you to it in the previous 2.0 thread.

Do you like this story?
Comments
yes it does
though the comment post screen is a delightful peach. And the thought of a yellow theme in July was a little offputting.
Working on that
today. There’s a way, believe me.

This is going to be fun
For some reason I don’t understand, when I go to the main page I only see the posts for a fraction of a second before a big black blob gets drawn over the top of everything below the logo and the navigation at the top. I’ll try again later to get it working, but any thoughts anyone might have would be much appreciated.
Still not working?
You might have logged on during some action; I know the site managers were up late. Any better now?

Monty, what browser and OS are you using?
let us know and we’ll try to figure out what’s going on. What does the blob look like?

This is an odd one
I’m on XP SP2, but using Opera 9.25. I’ve been tweaking and playing a bit and the problem is only with the front page of Podiumcafe. If I go to one of the sections in the menu bar at the top then everything looks OK. I’ve tried a few other random SBNation blogs and they all come out OK. The front page however just looks like this
at the top and
at the bottom.
Switching off javascript makes no difference, nor does blocking images. The only way I can read the front page is to disable the stylesheet (switching to User mode), which of course turns everything into plaintext. I then open the posts I want in new windows, go to those windows and turn the stylesheet back on.
And why, in preview, do those two images come out different sizes when they are both set as width=50%?
Need to
refer you to the administrator for this one. If you haven’t already, please repeat this comment in the next post and Clockwerks will see that you get some help.

Excellent
As a member of some of the SBN baseball blogs, I’ve been using the new format and its benefits are countless. I can’t wait for the Giro and the new live race thread features. No more refreshing!
Looks cool
and I can’t wait to check it out more a little later! Why did I think Jens would beat us all here? Tee hee! I am surprised not to see Egoat already though… :-)
wooooooohooooooooooooooooooo
Looks great. Well done chris…or whomever you are now.

So
“chris” was taken but “drew” was available. Lovely.

cool
Only now i realize the inumerous blogs of sports in the main server.
A powerfull comunity.
Congratulations for the “new” blog.
Honestly, the first time that i see (appearence) of the oldest podiumcafe i quit in one second…(I did not understood the means of this site.)
I’m glad that two weeks after, i came here and understood.
Sorry, for my basic english, but if you listen Cristiano Ronaldo you understand…
Very glad to have you here
it helps lend a wider perspective. And no need to apologize for your English. I’m sure it’s much better than all of our Portuguese (except for Gavia, probably).
As a Roma fan
I cannot listen to Cristiano Ronaldo. Figo? OK.

Your english is great
My spanish and portuguese…...not so much.

Testing stuff out

Oh, praise be. Look at that. That, ladies and gents, is a right aligned image, complete with title and alt tags.
Definitely recommend
hitting the “Wide” button on the top(ish) right of your screen, if you’ve got the real estate.
+1
Definitely go wide. My first thought was that everything was a bit crowded. Now, not so much.
Gotta go with the Grey Goose Martini, extra dry, olives on the side. :)

Whoa,
Cool
If you don't have time to do it right the first time, when are you going to have time to do it again?

Whoa...
New comments feature is unfrikinbelivably cool. This is going to be so much better during a race.

I see that you and I
have both taken the approach of using pictures of our training nutrition as our user pics.
Indeed
although at some point I’m going to insist everyone’s avatar be their bike.
Love the focus on yours. Drunk much?

yes, but

Thought of you
when I was trying to picture usernames being taken already.

hee
I wanted Sarah, but I figured this would work okay. I specifically love that we can now have profile pictures, so I can use the one I use for everything.

This is why I like URL's in profiles
Because it allowed me to confirm my first thought about your new username. (We have a common interest)
heee!
For a moment I thought you meant taking pictures out of plane windows and then I got it.
I simply love and adore Gibson and especially Cayce.

I see that the grouping of VDS features (in their own box) is not active
Although the resources link above works.
Seems to have gone missing
the pages are on the server someplace. I may just have to recreate the page.

What up
If you don't have time to do it right the first time, when are you going to have time to do it again?
Welcome
New commenter, or just new handle?

New handle
It’s Casher.
I claimed my old surname, but this one is coming up. IT’s cool though

Right on
Anyone who changes handles might want to email the VD sentry, so I can link your teams to the new name. vdsentry2008@yahoo.com

Pretty slick.
I feel like I’ve borrowed my uncle’s new Cadillac: it’s bright and shiny, and looks really easy to drive, but I don’t know where the windshield wiper or light switches are. :-)

Hmm.
When I’m in a thread (like this), the “FanPost” bar on the right reflects the comment numbers accurately. From the main page, it doesn’t (using my recently posted Say Hello, 2.0 diary as a guide).

New comments on the main page
Is there any fancy new way of finding post that have new comments from the main page? Or do we still have to scroll down.
I like...
the automatic updated comments too. No more sitting around hitting F5 over and over again.
Not sure if you'll see this
but is there anyway to ignore a user? ie not see a user’s comments while browsing a post?
Not yet,
but it’s an interesting idea that we may address in the future if enough people express an interest.
