CSC-Saxo... The Jersey

Not too jarring. Wonder if the red will turn to blue this winter? [Not a political comment.]

Tour of Rusland is taking place on 20-24 may. During….. The Giro!

Some say the best things in life, are one the inside.

Wow... I guess the two teams that are actually going to re-up their licenses can race that then.

Catalunya

If the Spanish race is moved then there is room for this here Russian thang.

Sochi

Checking out wikipedia, Sochi, where this Ruskie Tour is taking place will be the host city of the 2014 winter olympics what with the Caucasus mountains right behind it. Could be quite interesting.

it was a vacation spot

Sochi – Stalin had a vacation house there, I believe. Just, um, a random factoid for y’all.

Uncle Joe!

Wow, there’s about a half dozen posts worth of pointless material right there.

Another factoid

I have it from a good source that Chris has no friends or relations in Sochi.

Catalunya to late-march

not confirmed but probably yes. I can’t see why the Sochi race wants the Giro spot, it’s probably the worst of the calendar…

by King of Doping on Jun 11, 2008 6:55 PM EDT up reply actions

Hm

Sounds like a compromise position, halfway between Catalunya returning to its past relevance and disappearing altogether (my money was on the latter).

Wasn't there something...

... about the team members signing their jerseys across the waist as a sign of team solidarity?

Don't Like It

And the Current CSC jersey is great …. this is a mess

by cyclingchallenge on Jun 11, 2008 5:38 PM EDT reply actions

Other than a smaller CSC logo, it looks the same.

I’m really partial to last year’s jersey. I thought the signatures of all the riders was really (really) cool but I liked last years. But maybe that’s because I have mine that C gave me sitting here…. :-)

What ever they do for next year, I hope they add back more red or do something cool with the blue. There are WAY to many mostly white jerseys in the field this year.

by nikki on Jun 11, 2008 5:48 PM EDT reply actions

Yes!!

Too many white for sure! Not only is it sorta boring, but it’s hard to tell on teevee – or more importantly, buffering flickering streaming viddy – who everyone is…

by Jen See on Jun 11, 2008 6:49 PM EDT up reply actions

I liked last year's jersey too.

The honeycomb pattern blending from red to black was especially nice. I’m going to miss the red, black and white, as that is one of my favorite color combos.

by Veloki on Jun 11, 2008 7:23 PM EDT up reply actions

I thought they were great.

Very easy to pick out of the field and just had a sharp look to them. My office I’m working on is going to have those colors, even if only one wall so the framed jersey looks all proper when hung up. :-) It’s mixing that with blue and orange argyle that might make me dizzy. The whole CSC plan was great but now I have signed Slippie goodies. Blue/Orange Argyle looks a wee bit off on a red/black/white scheme. Hope to finish it in July/August so I’m still playing with ideas.

just don’t make our lives easy do they? ;-)
Good luck with the decorating and we want photos when it’s all finished!

NASCAR

I can see Jeff Gordon riding that and saying how he couldn’t win without the fine folks of Saxo Bank right there behind him. Come to think of it we might as well have a Dupont rainbow warrior jersey…

by ursula on Jun 11, 2008 6:34 PM EDT reply actions

Ahh... the Rainbow Warrier Jersey...

... I think they hand that out annually at the Folsom Street Fair…

Blood

Up close the red and the black smeary looking parts are all the riders signatures, which blend together and look pretty cool, but I swear that half the time I see that jersey on the teevee, I think the rider crashed and is bleeding. It makes me cringe. Wish they would get rid of that.

Red will turn to blue this winter for sure [a (scandinavian) political comment.]

A company that gives away Ayn Rand novels as christmas-presents is not going to spend 30 million Euro on a team riding around in red shirts.

A frozen 'cross ride from this last weekend. As you may be aware we have had siberian conditions here in the UK with a low of -14 degrees centigrade here on saturday morning. It was a beautiful sunny morning so i layered up and set off for a snowy 'cross ride along a roman road. I checked the thermometer when i got back to find it had been -10 throughout the ride! I had a lot of fun though and the views were spectacular.
