Suisse Stage 8 Klausenpass ITT... LIVE!
Finally, I have something nice to say about the Tour de Suisse. Should be an inspirational event today. Also, the overall will almost certainly be won. Sound OK? Enjoy...

Hottest day of the year so far here – should be some suffering

Are you in Switzerland?
Even better, are at the race site? Lucky devil, if you are.
I live near Geneva
But not at today’s race unfortunately

Bummer about not being there, although living in the French part of Switzerland is pretty nice.
I lived near Bern for several years and caught the TT which ended in Bern (Ullrich won the overall). That was a few years ago, I think. Wonderful technical course over the final couple of kilometers made for excellent viewing.
If you make it to Bern tomorrow, I recommend taking a swimsuit and floating down the Aare. It’s super invigorating on a hot day.
How hot?

Hmm
I just looked on Weather Underground for Altdorf where the stage starts:
Doesn’t seem excessive to me..

Auch Thomas Dekker (RAB) ist heute nicht mehr am Start erschienen. Nach seinem eher schwachen Auftritt will sich der Niederländer noch einmal intensiv mit Trainingseinheiten auf die Tour de France vorbereiten.
Some say the best things in life, are one the inside.
Looks as though
he plans on competing in the TdF. He doesn’t have too much time to shake the effects of his illness and get his legs up to snuff. For my VDS team’s sake, I hope he competes.
What time does Ctv coverage start?
"Hey, hey, settle down boys and girls or Krusty will have to bring out his old friend Corporal Punishment again."
Zaugg (CH?) is also a non starter today.
per Velonews
Fun
is a non-starter today. At least for the riders. Even Jens!, who’s probably mad he only gets to ride for 50 minutes or so.

Considering he weighs about 30lbs more than Rujano,
I’m ecstatic! Ah, Jens!, you freaking stud, you!!!!!
One tequila, two tequila, three tequila, floor. - George Carlin
30 KILOS I think
they said Rujano was 48 kilos…Jens has got to be 78 or more, no?
so multiply by 2.2… he weighs perhaps 75 lbs more. If the weight on Rujano is right, that is.
Quick Step had a Boonen - Rujano pic
at the team presentation or something like that during the brief time Rujano spent at QS… pretty impressive size difference there.
Just thinking but
I’d love to see an uphill TT where every rider had to weight the same at the start (including bikes). So the little guys would have to wear a backpack filled with sand to make things even. Then we’d find out about power to weight ratios.
"Hey, hey, settle down boys and girls or Krusty will have to bring out his old friend Corporal Punishment again."
Of course
Weight being equal (whoops). Force of habit.
"Hey, hey, settle down boys and girls or Krusty will have to bring out his old friend Corporal Punishment again."
I've been thinking the same thing
We’re planning on doing a 2xTT stage race here in Montreal (it’s easier to organize), one uphill, one flat. We’ve talked about going TdG style with no aero equipment on the flat TT. But then I think we should weigh all the bike for the uphill TT.

This country is armed to the gils, make no mistake. The neutrality is in no way passive.
with hangars built into the sides of the mountains
and the israeli army organization and training was modeled on the Swiss army. Really quite hard core. Good thing they can only play within their own borders (pope’s Swiss guard excepted).

Cycling Quotient
If he wins the GC tomorrow, Kreuzinger will move up to … just out of the top 20 for the year in CQ. (Klodi will move up to around there as well which is kinda fitting because these two riders have both dominated this year’s two Swiss pro tour races and got the bulk of their points so far at those two races as well.)
Yep
As far as I can tell he only has one other stage win in his career and that in last year’s Settimana Ciclistica Lombarda. I would say that was overshadowed by this year’s 2nd overall @ Romandie. He also had a 2nd in the ITT of last year’s Paris-Nice.
I almost want to cry...
Almost the whole gang was here for this stage and I missed it. :-(
And Drew – wow. Fun having you back for a whole stage!. Where have you been lately?
Funny thread had me laughing for a good hour while I caught up tonight!
Thanks Gang!!!
