Stage Three Post-Race: All the interviews and smack-talk here!
A surprising finale today, as a four-up breakaway survived to contest the finish. Samuel Dumoulin of Cofidis took the win in a hard fought battle with Romain Feillu of Agritubel, Will Frischkorn of Team Garmin, and Paolo Longo of Barloworld. Romain Feillu, the young French sprinter, now wears the Yellow Jersey as race leader. July 14th in advance, in the words of L'Équipe. The chase never really organized, and a screaming tailwind aided the survival of the escape. Denis Menchov and Riccardo Ricco missed the split in the bunch, after a crash by the ever-unfortunate Angel Gomez of Saunier Duval, and finished about 40 seconds down on the main field, containing the other GC favorites. Tomorrow, the crono!
Here are the stage results and the general classification.
