Vuelta Stage 3...LIVE!
Vuelta stage 3... live!

Looks like systems are returning to normal, and so too is the Vuelta. After a team time trial and some classics style racing, today looks more like sprinters' fare. Not assured -- last time the race went to Cordoba, Paolo Bettini won a puncheurs' affair. But if the heat isn't too brutal (Cordoba is the hottest place in Europe, and I don't mean Ibiza-hot), perhaps the fastmen can hold it together over some small climbs late in the stage. Should be entertaining as always. The Vuelta is off to a great start so far. Enjoy!

Good Morning/Afternoon/Evening!
Manuel Ortega (Andalucia-Cajasurm has 11+minutes on the peloton. Very hot day.
some links for live vid (not sure if either one of them shows the race, but let’s hope so for Albertina’s sake)
Aaaaa, how thoughtful of you Bruce!
They might work, but guess what? Our DASTARDLY IT DEPARTMENT HAS BLOCKED THEM!!!!! Excuse me while I go outside and scream.
RTVE won't work in the office either.
Looks like I’m relying on you lovely people to keep me updated again!
rasco is a bit blurry...
and my Spanish is rusty! Valverde sounds much better in Spanish than Roche…
oh look, Activia is at work in Spain, too, keeping women’s digestive systems in order…

whoa
I’m in! Not much time today, gotta take the boys for a hike. Damn, this computer is struggling… Also, cycling.tv just sucked another improper subscription out of me, but in the modern world it’s my fault for letting someone take my money, so I guess I can;t complain.

yeah
so far he seems OK. Just wondering if they didn’t want to pay A&B. Makes me sad, regardless of the why.

Anthony and Brian....
No, that is not confirmed. Matt is bringing us the Vuelta and the usual duo will be back for the Worlds.
Here’s some more info on Matt Keenan:

tnx for the info...
unfortunately i get stuck with the american worlds commentators…

and FWIW re: Matt Keenan
during the Tour, I’d read a number of Aussies in various places mentioning that they wished they got to listen to Keenan for the entire commentary rather than it switching over to Phil and Paul at the end every stage (or however that worked there), as in they thought he was pretty good. So, I’ll give him a chance – but I still miss Anthony and Brian :-)
good that el grillo has a tummy at the start of the season
Or he’d be deeply concave by now. He’s buff now!

yeah, nice finish, but big "meh" on the big boner
(And don’t tell me you’ve never thought of him that way.)
For those wondering the
CTV announcer is Matt keenan
Uh oh... this sounds like Anthony and Brian are done
"Already this year he has worked for ASO providing the full international commentary for the Tour of Qatar and the year’s first big European stage-race, Paris-Nice. He will be returning to Europe in September for the Tour of Spain, which invited him to provide the English commentary – a sign that his professional skills and reputation are becoming known.
As a result, last month he took the decisive step of resigning from his job at WorkSafe Victoria to join Jump Media and Marketing, which will manage his blossoming new career as a commentator."
OK - back to c.tv griping
You CAN’T drop the coverage at 2k to go. That’s just silly.
gotta love tve-international's abrupt cut off of the vuelta
NOT!!!

Oh well, at least we'll have some nice pics to view later!
Wish he’d won though :-( What happened to VV then that Benna’s in gold?
yes
Bennati is the new race leader. He was second in two intermediate sprints and again at the finish, picking up valuable bonus seconds.
for some reason i couldn’ find the CN live coverage until just now – i wish the people would sort there links out!
Ad (?) What's with the guys with the rope round their necks?
Is she giving them enough rope to hang themselves? Anyone who slings the lingo hear that, care to edify?
"slings the lingo"
Addition to the CrashDan Lexicon…
I know, it said "als" instead of "ist"... don't give me any crap...
don't you love (not) how the live feed totally disappeared from the list of live events?
I guess that’s one way to tell us, “do not adjust your set, it’s us, not you.”
I kept thinking, what did I just do
Thought I may have scrolled down on the live events list. Then check backed here and no one said anything. I thought for sure it was me at first.

i found it a bit difficult...
to pull together a solid one-off GC team for the Vuelta, so i played a different strategy – early days yet, so we’ll see how it pays off in the long run… still, a nice day out for my fledgling team :)
I think my strategy may well backfire....
…I’m taking a gamble on Contador, who took up most of my point allowance! One or two other jokers in the pack though so it may yet come off.
i had the same dilemma...
although i was looking at a different leader. but i couldn’t work out the back-up well enough with the remaining points, and the gamble was a bit too high…
Anyone else think that the high res and the mid res look startlingly similar?
And neither one crystal clear like the DK feed we here can no longer get?
GC
Benna
VV
Boonen
Pozz
Egoi!
Rebellin
landaluze
Zabel
Ardilla
Anton!
Astarloza
Arroyo
J. Rodriguez
etc
the last climb
certainly spiced things today.
I’m most likely going to miss tomorrows stage, so hopefully the streams work and you’ll keep us updated! :)
yes it did!
i’ll have to miss out on the next few live streams, too, till next weekend… this new job is interfering with important matters!
Boonen wins
and Benna takes over the GC from Valverde- this race is already topping the TdF for hotitude.
lol, yes!
Almost ideal! And remember too that Alejandro “perfect smile” Valverde took over from Pozzato (who now looks hotter than he did then, admittedly…)

Woo hoo!
Go Roche!
