It was interesting seeing the two euski guys

The knew it would be close I guess

yes, that was pretty cool!

Thankfully Egoi got the bonus seconds, otherwise no GOLDEN jersey for him!
Phew, it was still close.
Very good day for my team!
And majope’s clearly too, congrats there too!

Apparently Bruyneel gave the stage to Egoi:

"Before the stage today, I whispered to Egoi that it might be a good day to get into a breakaway," Bruyneel said with a smile. "Egoi is a real fighter and he deserves the jersey. We’re happy with the result today."

Making alliances

Remember how Rodriguez helped out Contador in the next to last Giro stage? We’re seeing part deux in the making.

Good on Van Avermaet

I predict big things from him in the future, *Lotto has their replacement sprinter (for McEwen leaving) already but he can also get over hills and so will do well in the spring classics I think.

Brilliant!

my boys in 1st, 3rd, and 20th and Martinez in gold! and Chav, Cornu, and Roche holding on in the GC top 20!

well done, Greg! and good for Moncoutie coming back for more mountains points…
