Hushovd to Cervélo Test Team
Another liberated star rider announces his 2009 colors: following the demise of Credit Agricole, Norwegian sprinting star Thor Hushovd will resume his career with the new Cervélo test team, VN reports. He still hopes to go for the Green Jersey at the 2009 Tour, so either he knows something about Cervélo's relationship with the ASO folks, or he's assuming Carlos Sastre's inclusion on the team has sealed the deal -- not an outlandish assumption. Seven more riders, and they have a team...

I hope it works out for him,
I’ve always liked Thor – his personality seems sort of un-sprinter-like.

and who's the source for this one, the janitor?
just kidding.
Been rumored for a week or so, and nice to hear it confirmed. Thor and Sastre – I like this team, so far. Especially since they look to be picking up some young talent also. Looking forward to watching them next season for sure.

This is probably old news
but according to his site, Thor is out for the rest of the season, and won’t ride worlds.
Some blood values were too low, so the team doctor decided with the staff of the team that I had to stop the season. It’s not healthy to continue training and compete. So the 4th stage of Tour of Germany was my last race with Credit Agricole. I feel sorry for them to not finish the season, and maybe win one more race for them, but I had no choice. I thank the team for the support during all these eight years, and all the confidence they had in me for years! I respect how Legeay run his team, and how much he fights for a drug free sport. I also received a big respect from the team, that they still take care of my health, even after I have to leave since Roger Legeay hasn’t found another sponsor for next year! It’s also a shame because I know that this year’s World Championship fits me well. I promise everybody that I’ll come back stronger next season! Then in a new team, who hopefully can help me to reach my goals like winning a big Classic or another Green Jersey in the Tour!"

What does it mean, "blood values too low"?
Mono? Anemia? Some disease?

He was sick during the Tour, and missed the Olympics because he didn’t recover. If it’s the same illness that still bothers him it doesn’t sound too good.

Thor’s site was updated today with a statement about the new team</a. Here’s part of the statement::
has decided to join the new Cervélo Test Team. he signed a two-years contract. "For me, it was easy to decide to join the Cervelo TestTeam," said Thor. "I like the idea of this team, where not only victories count but also the opportunity to work together with the cycling industry. I think this is a modern way to run a team and is the future of cycling as a sport. After nine years with Credite Agricole, I am looking forward to the new challenges together with the Cervélo TestTeam. I would like to use the opportunity to say "thank you" to all the members of the Crédit Agricole team, especially Roger Legeay for the confidence and his tireless work for me. I appreciate it a lot. My focus in the next season will be on the Spring Classics and I would like to win a stage as well the green jersey for the Cervélo TestTeam in the Tour de France."

"liberated" is the wrong word to use in your write-up

technically?
I meant it with no negative connotation; just that he was set free by the disappearance of his team. Maybe everyone has their own list of connotations with various words — I know I do, and that not everyone will get what the hell I mean. C’est la vie.
"If writing too much about the Classics is wrong, I don't want to be right."

"liberated" definition
1. To set free, as from oppression, confinement, or foreign control.
2. Chemistry To release (a gas, for example) from combination.
3. Slang To obtain by illegal or stealthy action: t(i.e., ried to sell appliances that were liberated during the riot.)
