For those of you stuck freezing your naughty bits off, I thought I would post a little video of my Saturday ride on Mt. Tam overlooking Stinson Beach and Bolinas (where hippies go to hide)... And please understand that this is not intended to be a "neener, neener, look how nice the weather is where I live" taunting sort of thing, just a reminder that no matter where you live, soon that ice will melt, the grass will start to grow, the leaves will come back, and you too will be able to ride without full face protection and heated shorts. All of you that is, except Jens.

Jimbo, you are so sweet.
However, I think you now have me fearing for your life…. how far down is the drop right there? Holy cow.

The beach
is maybe 1900 feet down to the beach, but the drop off right from the road looks way worse than it is. It’s not a cliff. More of a very steep grassy hill that you would not want to ride off, but if you did, you would just get Schlecked. And I was looking at the road while. Mostly.
...mostly! You be careful!
I intend on sharing a beer with you in a few weeks Mister!. :-) Thanks for the video. Seeing it surely warmed it up here, although today it was a total heat wave, we hit like 14 above! That’s 28 degrees warmer than just a day ago.

Proof that Spring is coming!
I talked to my buddy the other day who lives in Chicago and he said that the high that day was 2 below zero… holy crap
Not too bad pedaling...
… but a helluva lot harder to pull off the ground when someone knocks it over (someone=me) than your bike :)
Sic gorgiamus allos subjectatos nunc.
Nice shot
I think that view is more south east than north. That little hill in the middle with the white cloud on top is Angel Island. And if you could zoom way in on the spit of land at the bottom, you would see my house.
Helmet cam, smart!
I once put a video camera on the front of my bike. But every time I turned the bike to show the views, I almost went over the cliff.
Helmet cam is a lot smarter ;))

Helmet cam?
No helmet cam… I was holding my trusty little Sony Cybershot DSC-T5 in one hand while steering with the other.
Just showed this to
occasional PdC poster Megabeth, who also happens to be my partner. Her reaction – “Shit, is that what you made me ride along?!” – when we last rode up to the top of Mt. Tam, it was all fog and cloud enshrouded.
Pictures like these
make Northwesterners very uncomfortable…
