Wind is forecast at 14 mph so not windy like yesterday
stage preview at cyclingfans.com says there is a 2.5% incline at the finish.
Wind: I enjoyed seeing the echelons
from yesterdays video highlights, yeah it was windy out there like Benelux in Feb/Mar. So cool.

I'm in the middle of bathing a child so where do we stand at this point?
Just spinning the pedals in the hills of Western Maryland
Oh well, back to the bath
I guess I’ll check back in when I sit down to work again in an hour or two. I hope Austin Powers is in another break today.

Whoo hoo, neutral start!
can you say overenthusiastic?
love the CN comment
“11:13 CST
Now, just so we’re all on the same page, the neutral zone is exactly that. Neutral. Nobody is in front, nobody is behind, nobody is anybody. This means that Lance Armstrong (Astana) is in the exact same spot as everyone else. I couldn’t count the amount of e-mails I received during yesterday’s neutral asking if he’d attacked yet…”
LOL
Hey did you enjoy the novel I returned to you with your one line question? ha ha!

Ouch. (so giggling)

everything's going well
got that increased energy of the 2nd trimester (ie able to actually be productive at work again) – at least until presumably baby gets so big that moving is uncomfortable, sleep is difficult, etc. etc… :-D
Happy to hear it's going good! Milk that 3rd trimester when it hits as much as you can!

do you guys know about cyclingfans.com ?
We check there often.
I’m just starting to get swamped at work right now though so I’ve gotten lazy and enjoy what little time I find here at night. :-)
"The most wasted day is that in which we have not laughed."
Damn they've got excuses out the wazoo
"Seems all that wire holding up the grape vines is interfering with the communications systems. "
is anyone going to be brave enough today,
to risk all the frustration of trying to listen to a few seconds of racing, and many hours of trees,
on Radio Adelaide?
If you toss up the linkie, I'll probably have it up in the background really really low. :-)
"The most wasted day is that in which we have not laughed."
I'll be bitching in a few hours I am sure. :-)
But it’s nice for a little background noise.
"The most wasted day is that in which we have not laughed."
U know..
I entered my VDS team.. Someone interested?
Some say the best things in life, are one the inside.
Better than me. I keep playing with mine.
Sad really, as I pretty much know the roster I want and will end up (hopefully) in the middle of the pack with a team I just love cheering for.
We usually put up a thread the day they’re due, or right after and share, brag, tease, etc.. :-)
"The most wasted day is that in which we have not laughed."
Yeah I did that also..
But at a moment I swa my team was perfect (ahum).. So before I lost that feeling I handed it in
Some say the best things in life, are one the inside.
Sweet! I keep playing but not sure there's much reason to.
I think it’s the part of me that like to be competitive. But then the me that just wants riders I like and will be excited for that takes over. Not that some of mine aren’t going to kick butt though. ha ha!
"The most wasted day is that in which we have not laughed."
Haha.. The only problem is..
I didn’t look to the scoring system and the races included.. So Maybe I get very dissapointed if I see then.. Solution: I keep my mouse away from those buttons

If anyone is looking for something to pass along some time...
I got a chuckle from this.

Ok.. 15the time i see Austin Powers..
So tell me baby, how is he..
Ok.. That sounds terrible

LOl. Mike Meyer played Austin Powers and Cameron Meyers powered away yesterday
Natbla came up with it.
Maybe we should wait and taunt the rest of the gang during other races?

Wind:
the wind’s probably only 50km/h instead of 80 or 90km/h and more of a head crosswind. – Matt White
Sheesh! only 50 KMP.
From CN earlier:
12:17 CST
I’m told that four Mutual Community Challenge Tour participants have been involved in four separate incidents this morning and were treated along the race route and then transferred to hospital. I hope all four of you have a speedy recovery!
Hope Flatbagger wasn’t one of those who crashed.
hey talking about Aussies,
Did you know that of the 16 teams in the TdU, not including Unisa, 9 of those 16 teams have Australian riders on them, a total of 16 riders in race not including Unisa riders?
9 of 17 teams not including Unisa have 16 Aussies on them
plus the 7 Unisa riders = total 23 Aussies on 10 of the 18 teams – impressive !
They seem to have at least three among the top five finishers.
Perhaps it is the “home field/road” advantage or is it something more sinister such as something in the water/trees/wine over there.
Travis Meyer (UniSA) and Camerson Meyer (Garmin-Slipstream) are brothers
did anyone se their interview on Versus 2 days ago? They are so cute!
After yesterday's matchburning fest
Surely the peloton isn’t going to take a rest day today and let this break go.
Someone tell me “No way dude, they are going to bring this back”
It's more then 100km to go!
They’ve plenty of time to get them back..
Some say the best things in life, are one the inside.
Hmm I'm out..
We’ll see.. Think Rabo wants the leaderjersey as THR will do.. Caisse Has Rojas which perfecly suits this finish

" George Hincapie just came back to the car to tell me I had to stop twittering and concentrate on the race. What's YOUR opinion on that? "
Oh George knows better, we all want the Twittering
We don’t care if Johan is concentrating on the race
Too bad DZ's not racing in this one. Wonder what his conversation would've been. :-)

Everyone - would you email Greg Johnson the commentator at CN and tell him

Sounds like Cyclegirl
might’ve been at the 2nd feed zone today. That girl needs to check in here.

no. the peloton has a break on the end of its line and they are very slowly reeling them in.
Still 70Km to go. Slow race today.

Per the guy at CN…
Current situation – Km 72

Peloton at 5.25 minutes

Very slow.
Might be safe to hide the 2nd thready. I know I won’t make it till the end at this rate.

eh, no worries
we can always delete it later. i’ll leave it up for now in the event something astonishing happens.

I did I did! It was great.
Made it feel like spring. No kidding – we actually walked out with out our coats all zippered up today. You would’ve thought it was like in the 50’s or 60’s. Funny how that warm-up plays with the mind.

This is sad to admit...
But being the cheesehead I am living in Chicagoland, a few years back I was bet at a bar that I couldn’t name 20 cheeses in under a minute. Smoked it and loved the beer. :-)
"The most wasted day is that in which we have not laughed."
I don't think that's sad at all, pretty cool actually, and free drink with that knowledge
So who can knock that?
The gift I got at Christmas's from this bunch
was always related to cheese as a joke. The best year was this huge box loaded with cheese balls, cheese in a can, cheese crackers. It was hilarious. All tied back into our Packers vs Bears fun too. Good times.
"The most wasted day is that in which we have not laughed."
Did it come with a foam cheese hat?
Because, really, nothing says “Cheesehead” like the ubiquitous foam-cheese hat. :-) And I know whereof I speak.

But I do own one. It was at, played a part at my wedding. Funny it lasted longer than the wedding – Doh! Fun times!

OMG - that would be hilarious. I could ask riders to wear it for pics!
Now if I could just figure out how to get that to fit into the carry on as I’m not checking luggage. And being at O’Hare – I am not wearing it on. :-P

Aaron Kemps (UniSA), Gert Steegmans (Team Katusha), Bernhard Eisel (Team Columbia – High Road), Guillaume Blot (Cofidis), Olivier Kaisen (Silence – Lotto), Scott Davis (UniSA), Markus Eichler (Team Milram) and Willem Stroetinga (Team Milram) have all fallen off the back of the peloton
