Joy for Jens!-fans

Jens! Voigt keeps working on earning his reputation as the energizer-bunny of the Pro peloton. He says in this interview that although his contract expires this year he already has a verbal agreement with Bjarne Riis to keep riding for one more year, possibly two. Sweet Jebus that is good news. Regardless of his results we want to keep the funniest man in the peloton around for as long as possible.

This just made my morning

Thanks Jens……and Jens!

Hmmmm, have the two of you ever been photographed in the same place at the same time? Anybody else thinking Clark Kent / Superman?

On second thought... there is, perhaps, a Clark Kent/Superman thing...

… but I suspect it’s not Jens! and Jens… it’s Jens! and Terrible Terry Tate.

Can't copy/paste from cyclingnews.com,

but you’ve gotta see this look on Jens’ face after being in a 200km break in the Tour:

Interestingly, Cyclingnews terms the look "happy."

What a picture!

Thanks for that—I’m going to be chuckling all morning.

I hope that if and when Jens! does retire, he becomes a TV commentator. And if German TV drops their cycling coverage, fine—he can do it for Versus so we English-speakers can enjoy him.

Google is my domestique.

That's a great way to wrap up a week!

Good news indeed. Can we just make Bjarne sign him for say 5 years for comfort?

Yay!

I like me some Jens!

Jens! is so cool. Every hyperbolic descriptor in the English

language comes to mind, but I’ll spare you all. Nikki was right, it doesn’t take much to get me rapturous over Jens! Jawohl, this definitely made my day!

My biggest conundrum right now is the guilt I feel over (maybe) not picking Jens! for my VDS team. What, oh what should I do?

I'm in the same boat

Jens! was on my VDS team last year and I’ll almost feel like a trader if I don’t put him on this year too……

by Veloki on Jan 23, 2009 4:51 PM EST up reply actions

Oh no Ruthann....

I fear you may feel ill during many races if he is not on your team. You may want to play a bit more to make sure he’s on there.

LOL....

He rode back up past us on King George Rd yesterday after stage 5 in the TDU – we shouted out to him and got a wave and a big smile….

I’m struggling to work out who my next cycling hero is going to be once he retires….there just wont be enough quirk without him.

Got this from a Eurosport.de interview

after ToC he is doing Paris-Nice, than Crit International. Than he will have a break before riding the Giro, than the Route du Sud and the Tour. That’s all he listed, I’m sure he has some other races on the schedule as well.
