TdU Finale... LIVE!

Congratulations Allan Davis, who is one clean stage away from his first Tour Down Under title. The only remaining hurdle is the Adelaide Circuit Race today, and if Davis remembers how to run a crit -- and stays upright -- it's all over. If anything, he's the favorite for another stage win, though presumably the full complement of sprinters will be hanging around for the finish. Should be a nice day for someone. Enjoy!

Checking into say hello :-)
I have a very cute little 4 year old neighbor that insists I come watch Peter Pan with her tonight so I will miss the early part of tonight’s stage but think I’ll be back to watch afterwards. I can blow off most friends with my cycling enjoyment but sweetie pie does not care. She misses me sooooo much. LOL. So cute. Have fun and I’ll catch you back in a few hours! Have fun!!!
"The most wasted day is that in which we have not laughed."
You could always watch the cycling on the net
and from time to time reassure the 4 year old that you are actually watching pan….just make sure not to cheer to loud :) You are pretty tough though, I would totally blow off that 4 year old to watch a dead flat crit, and if the 4 year old would want me to watch pan during a big tour mountain stage I would probably end up yelling at the poor child “they are going up the Alpe, don’t you have any fucking idea how important that is, fucking pussy pan can wait”….yeah I know, I have no heart :)

finish my study for today
i bet in Brown for this stage….if McEwen don’t decide appear in the bunch sprint?!
enjoy the race, see you tomorrow.
What time does this actually start?
I figured we’d have something by now.
Just spinning the pedals in the hills of Western Maryland
cyclingTV lists 4:00 am GMT + 1
so 7:00 pm PST if my math is good.

Hey, missed this earlier but...
Welcome to the fun!!!!

I like that
"We’re expecting that Jack Bobridge (UniSA) will be one of the first to attack when this race gets underway. Call it a hunch. "
11 rider break
Jens!
Wesly Sulzberger (FDJ)
Bobridge
Others…
but Garmin missed again
Someone needs to give the Garmin boys a lesson in picking up breakaways.
This is becoming a regular occurrence.
Indeed.
JV needs to learn it’s not all about ITTs and TTTs.
Mon coeur appartient à les forçats de la route.
Admittedly, this is very much the b-team for Garmin.
A lot of not very experienced riders here for them. Though what happend to Julian Dean is a real mystery.
Afternoon, all!
Well you’ll be pleased to know that it’s a nice cool 27C/80F here today. (BTW, my outside thermometer topped out briefly at 50C/122F yesterday afternoon).
I’ll be a bit scarce until alternative feeds appear – telly’s in another room ; )
Versus stream didn't work in firefox for me
luckily it works in explorer, but I has some bad Ctv flashbacks for a moment

Does PdC have any special festivities whenever Jens! is the winner of races/stages?

Zoe, this comment made my day! So damn funny!
"It's official. For the next four years, it will be pronounced 'nuclear' " --Seth Meyers
Basically, what needs to happen here is Sulzberger gets a flat...
…and Jens! wins the stage.
We gotta lose that Euskadel guy too...
This is becoming complicated.
There are 13 riders in the break and 19 teams in the race
so that would be a no

After reading that freaking Dave Z interview at Velocity Nation...
That suddenly becomes a really disturbing thought…
yea I've seen him pissed before, when they lost the US Pro championship to Tyler
JV was driving out of Greenville red faced
Break members:

René Mandri (AG2R La Mondiale)

Emanuele Bindi (Lampre – N.G.C)
Jos Van Emden (Rabobank)

Man, the teams that aren't in this and have riders within a minute...
are feeling stoopid right now.
Sulzberger will not be all too happy with Borbridge
and Borbridge wont care

Bobridge!
Trying to be first seems virtually compulsive with him. Someone needs to give him a contract, soon.
ooooh Bobridge stole sprint points from Sulzberger
Paul Sherwen says he was protecting Matty Wilson’s 6th place
Sweet Jesus!!!!! LIVE VIDEO!!!!
I am so excited. I don’t care if it’s a flat crit or not!

Wendy is all good.
And the croc is happily still chasing Hook into the sunset!
"The most wasted day is that in which we have not laughed."
Sweet as ever.
She was very mad at me earlier today as she misses me soooo much and work is interupting our Friday night date night. Love the little one. Her 2 year old brother is sweet as can be too. I wonder sometimes if I don’t have kids of my own so I can spoil the few precious ones I’m really close to. Love it. :-)

Phil -
Shame on you! I could never tell my little sweetie such mean things. She’s too adorable and has me wrapped around her finger. This summer her and I are going to be watching a lot of bikes!

I said you were a better person for it
and I said I was a heartless cycling fanatic who would do such things

LOL!
Last July after the appedix thingy my godson’s 3 year old sister would come up to me while I was there and ask if we could watch bikes and would ask if like every rider was my friend that we knew. So cute. I’m training them early. :-)
"The most wasted day is that in which we have not laughed."
Phil wouldn't say that. He's just pretending like he's a tough guy. We know different.

I'm not pretending, I am usually warm hearted
but when it comes to my sports, well than I will get angry if someone interferes with my viewing pleasure :)

I say not...
just wait until one of these little cuties looks you in the eyes with huge croc tears asking if you can stay and play. Impossible to say no I tell ya.
"The most wasted day is that in which we have not laughed."
Buffering? What is this buffering?
Oh wait. This is free and live. Carry on!

wow a feed right after the sprint, hard to catch a bottle at warp speed
(is there feeding every lap has anyone noticed?)
Anyone know the time gap?

Yes it is
especially when he isn’t riding in his home tour even though he is in Australia and riding his bike everyday.

he's only just finished his rehab from his knee injury actually
so, can’t really blame him for not racing at this point yet, ACL tears aren’t minor injuries. recent article
“I was only starting to feel normal again in December walking around and stuff, though I could ride my bike fine by September,” he said. "I didn’t have any problem, I didn’t have any pain, but I just wanted to be 110percent sure I’d done everything I could.
"This year I’d say I’m about at 80percent of what I was at this time last year.
1/2 now, lap 9 of 18 (shortened from 20)
still at 5min 30seconds per lap, they are maintaining a steady… 49km per hour avg
Why was it shortened?
were 90 km too much?

sheesh. They do a wonderful job?
Is anyone else having video issues?
My sound is clear but the video is buffering and/or stuck still.

Clear here
but that’s revenge for the Rotterdam event, were I saw nothing and you had a perfect screen :)

I'm good with the sound as that's what I get at work.
Listening to live stuff works and has long been missed! If this would be the streams I pay for I’d be preparing some gripes. tee hee. Too bad they couldn’t have offered this up all week.

thanks ! excellent - wish you could feed this info to Paul and Phil
they really should be monitoring our thread, right?
No Garmin up with the leaders?
Seems like they missed a few this week. They need to get Will into some of these to help train the younger guys how to do it. Bring on MSR!
"The most wasted day is that in which we have not laughed."
I was just joking with the break aways.
Adore Will and can’t wait for him to be racing again at Qatar.
"The most wasted day is that in which we have not laughed."
Canadians are very good at energy conservation
we have to be living in the Great White North, you know?
they're doing really well in the team comp, but still...
…this seems a bit dissapointing for them.
I love that their jersey's seem pretty easy to pick out.
"The most wasted day is that in which we have not laughed."
easy to confuse with rabo though
It seems like there are two or thee basic color combos now in the whole peloton. Only Leaky and Lampre are unmissable.
Is it time for animal prints/stripes to return en masse?
Mon coeur appartient à les forçats de la route.
Are the tops of Rabo's shoulders orange though?
I thought that piece made it pretty easy.
"The most wasted day is that in which we have not laughed."
Question for the racers:
when you are in a line working in a breakaway do you rotate off the front to your right or left and is it an unsaid rule in the peloton?
A Response....
Hey Zoe -
I asked Will (fun and friendly fanship) your question. He responded once he awoke over in Girona this morning…
" pretty much based on wind, or in a crit, whatever is going to be smoother."
I think we had pretty much gotten that from sminer and others but I thought you might enjoy the response. I thought he’d be great to ask as he has one of those abilities of getting into breaks. Plus I think he rocks and he’s sweet in responding. So it was fun. :-)
"The most wasted day is that in which we have not laughed."
last 4 laps the breakaway slowed slightly to maybe 6 minutes per lap
from the previous 5:30 average for the first 8 laps, I wonder why ?
Jens! wins the sprint
first win of the year! …..sort of

ZoeRocelle and everyone
lets watch for a lap or two and see which way riders swing off,
as I do not think much wind today, so they will be swinging off right or left for varying resaons, not so much wind I think today.
swinging off to left right there
probably ZoeRochelle, as they go around circuit, wind comes from varying sides, so they swing off into wind at that point
Zoe, you could probably twitter some of the riders and ask.
"The most wasted day is that in which we have not laughed."
Break:
Bernhard Eisel (Team Columbia – High Road)
Rein Taaramae (Cofidis)
Jos Van Emden (Rabobank)
Gianni Da Ros (Liquigas)
Chris Sutton (Garmin-Slipstream)
Cameron Meyer (Garmin-Slipstream)
Joan Horrach Rippoll (Team Katusha)
Did you mean Cam? Oops. I mean Austin Powers?
"The most wasted day is that in which we have not laughed."
Rabo white shoulders, Slipstream orange. Otherwise, darn similar at a glance.
been waiting to see for awhile.
From head on I think the GarMen with the orange shoulder is easy to pic out.
"The most wasted day is that in which we have not laughed."
Yeah, you have to focus on the shorts.
Might be easier for us girls. tee hee.

remember Zabel pulling out his foot at TdF

Fun racing this week, but I am tired of sprints now

yes BC, but eastern edge of BC near Alberta, in Golden BC
so we actually are in Mtn time zone (same as Denver I believe).
The rest of BC is Pacific time.
