Notice how the early action music is lame?
Yesterday we had " Bay City Rollers" at one point.
If you don’t know who they are it’s best to stay ignorant.
On a side note
Don’t worry about the economy.Collapse of our current monetary system is a mathematical certainty. There’s nothing you can do to stop it short of an uprising,so enjoy the racing
It must be great to speak Dutch
Barely anyone else does and English is pretty much 100% spoken. So it’s like Navajo in WWII.Except the enemy occupies your nation.
Ooops
Are there Doping Controls at 6 day races?
Truly I have no idea
yes
Yes thats how Keisse was caught at the Gent 6
Well it's daybreak on the Eastern Seaboard
So I shall hand over the bridge.Have at it..
Q: Roy, what do you mean that "sleeping" is a hobby?
A: I like it.
Cute, but you’re not missing much, conversationally, based on the 15% that’s slow enough for me to decipher.
Sir Chris Hoy

some of those slings are mere handshakes
some are intense. Pretty crazy in a tight press with no brakes… don’t know how fast the guy next to you will suddenly be going, nor it what trajectory.
My rider's have ghost images
Like the last bit on the Haunted Mansion ride
um wow
must be impressive to see in person.

SERIOUS field trip potential.

Daddy Cool
wow, stroetinga-pollack, great sling, great effort. Next team not gonna do it—bad hand off—but the rabo boys are pretty fast in the legs.
Will Decker find his groove without others on the course? Not today. Fear of the hand-off. Lots of telegraphing before it happens, not much zing.
the show
Wait for the show, i did some reasearch. Childrens entertainers.
Have I ever said I'm Dutch?!?
That was a lie….
Some say the best things in life, are one the inside.
yeah, the shows have been bad
who remembers abba on day 1?
Not great camera work here.
The derny drivers block the view of the cyclists almost completely.
Google is my domestique.
the drivers are considered racers, too
But yeah…wish they had a few more cameras. Heck, though, it’s free.
yeah, but i've found no firm plans.
I really want tickets though :) Time for me to experience one of these things
Update from July
Says it’s set for October 2009. I’ll see if I can dig up anything more recent.
Google is my domestique.
haha, all about the music
6 day is comming home :)
Is that it for today?
My husband is in running clothes already and glaring at me.

Is everyone standing up? I mean really, we do have a champion and all. :-)
"The most wasted day is that in which we have not laughed."
That's all folks
Thats if for Family Day, tomorrow it’s Amstel Cafe night, so yeah.
I watched the last two events reading through comments.
I will be much better tomorrow. Plus I’ll be at work so having it streaming while sitting at the desk is awesome. Trying to do things around the house, not as easy. :-)
"The most wasted day is that in which we have not laughed."
I missed all the action
the show sounded like it was brilliant, looks like the last three days are all night session, much better. Yo, Nikki, can I sit now?
"If you go (with a break), you can either win or not win. If you don't go for it, you definitely won't win."
~ Jens Voigt
Totally sit down. They sent the champions to bed so they can race hard for us tomorrow afternoon. :-)
"The most wasted day is that in which we have not laughed."
Ok, that's good
I have a full 24 hours to recover before a lot of standing the next three days. The comp started at 4:30 here this morning, so I slept while standing for the last 4 hours, didn’t want to disrespect any champions you know.
"If you go (with a break), you can either win or not win. If you don't go for it, you definitely won't win."
~ Jens Voigt
Awesome.
Yeah, that started a little too early for me. It’s not like the classics where I get up at 4 am with coffee in hand.
I slept in, worked out, and then signed on . They were on the last couple events by the time I took a look.
But no fear. Tomorrow through Wed should be good.
"The most wasted day is that in which we have not laughed."
Hey Phil....
I found a song they could use for the stand off if we are blessed with another one. Whatcha think?
"The most wasted day is that in which we have not laughed."
Yes, that would work real well
btw, did you know that the same guy who did stand up also did this instant classic
"If you go (with a break), you can either win or not win. If you don't go for it, you definitely won't win."
~ Jens Voigt
Oh god, I had forgotten about that one.
The hair gel guys could so use that for their intro. ha ha!
"The most wasted day is that in which we have not laughed."
Oh, there'll be another one...
It’d be nice to see Sir Chris better this effort ;)
I have no real idea on why I find that so impressive
but I really do. So, is the idea to force the other guy to go before you so you have the advantage of being in his slipstream and then passing him at the very end?
"The most wasted day is that in which we have not laughed."
Major Taylor famous for actually backing up
to force the other guy to the front.
Yeah, the guy who goes first generally loses, unless he catches the other guy napping.
In a talk earlier today I found out that
that is pretty exhausting to do. These guys aren’t the smallest of riders and built for the speed on the track. To hold the position takes a lot out of them. I think I was told the record is like 15 minutes and with that, a time limit of 15 minutes or so has been set for some of the big track races. In all cases, I find it fun to watch. :-)
"The most wasted day is that in which we have not laughed."
So funny girl. You really do have that one stuck in your head don't ya!
I am hoping to be here this afternoon for the fun but work might interfere a bit. Everyone under the sun is back to work today so there won’t be any cranked speakers today I’m afraid but having it up and the video streaming shouldn’t be bad. :-)
"The most wasted day is that in which we have not laughed."
We can give you a running commentary on the music if you like ;-)
I don’t think I’ll be around for all of it I’m afraid…
