Hey guys :-)

Sounds like the music is going to be splendid today. Or should I say, all night long! ha ha.

The schedule lists twice - the women's 4-day race.

Any race in particular? Looks like the madison is going on now.

the english schedule is wrong

from what i learnt last night, the dutch schedule has it right. Still lists the same thing twice

Did he just say another bites the dust?

Or is he simply himself getting into the music? I need some zooming in as from this view, it’s not going to keep my attention all afternoon.

Not sure, but this is not exactly a song you want to hear as an athlete

Morning--er, afternoon, all.

I actually got caught up on some actual work. Okay, it wasn’t actual work, but it was like work (critique group stuff), so I can watch with a more or less clear conscience.

Ditto here.

Busted booty this morning to get as much done as I can so I feel less guilty.

On a plus side though, you know we’ll be here all afternoon if you get bored over there. :-)

ha ha.

I actually don’t know that I would “really” care what I used, as long as it works. If I learned my way around a Mac I’d probably enjoy it. I had loads of friends tell me I would have nothing but issues with my window’s vista stuff and I have yet to have problems and I’ve had the laptop almost a year.

Dekker quote of the day

On why he’s doing this: “In order to torture myself with something I totally can not. And I can tell you: I can not.”

Article here. Google Translate here. I’ve yet to get a translated article to show up properly, so you’ll have to put the two together yourself (if you need to).

Oh, and for those who missed it, Dekker after his win yesterday here.

Don't know if they're at all similar in the Netherlands

but my mom used to make turkey croquettes out of leftover Thanksgiving turkey, ground up and made into a kind of meatball, then rolled in breadcrumbs and fried and served with gravy.

Google is my domestique.

by majope on Jan 6, 2009 1:36 PM EST up reply actions

She used to make potato croquettes, too.

Think really smooth mashed potatoes in the middle, bread-crumbed and deep fried. The turkey croquettes were pretty smooth in the middle too, so meatball isn’t a good description except for shape.

I think it’s lunch time…

I so heart google tranlsation..

For men with flexibility and steerage.
The outsider of this year is Thomas Dekker, the man who last year came the news more than any Dutch cyclist too. Even without cycling. He is certainly the biggest name on the poster of the Rotterdam Six. Thomas Dekker close – that people want to see. That tongue from the mouth, which has long brown curls, which flashy silver shoes. The class from which drips, she drooling.

I so think I chose the wrong languages to use to translate.

And.... he's doing it for beans and bacon. Too funny.

by nikki on Jan 6, 2009 1:36 PM EST up reply actions

I adore automatic translators.

Babel fish can be counted on to make even more of a mess of things, especially since it gives up easily:
That tongue from the mouth, which curls long bruine, who flashing zilveren schoentjes. The class which drips there as from, does them dribble.

But you can usually get the gist. Usually.

That's okay, as I too am slacking.

I just realized my membership at ctv is still going strong and includes the UCI stuff so I have a crap load of Cross races I get to watch at some point. With Trebon, Powers, Shriver, Driscoll, Wells, and Matter racing, I so want to check out the video’s. I watched one the other weekend via a free stream I found but I’m truly now in heaven. :-) 6 days and Cross. Sweet!

Not trying hard=letting others win

doesn’t mean he wants one specific person to win, but he isn’t going for the win so he is letting someone else win

He might need to stop all the work outs though.

The boy thinned down a bit this last year. We can just send him to Germany and to Belgium for a couple weeks. He’ll be good to go then.

A frozen 'cross ride from this last weekend. As you may be aware we have had siberian conditions here in the UK with a low of -14 degrees centigrade here on saturday morning. It was a beautiful sunny morning so i layered up and set off for a snowy 'cross ride along a roman road. I checked the thermometer when i got back to find it had been -10 throughout the ride! I had a lot of fun though and the views were spectacular.
