I may
stop by, depending on the needs of DS Little Bear that day. No bike though. Where are the Spanish Steps?

Is it too much to hope that those are the steps that Father Damien Karras threw himself down?

Yes
That would be the Exorcist Steps, which are in Georgetown just above M Street.

Damn...
… and I was gonna fly out to through Drew down the steps. Guess I’ll save my cash now.

I'm 43 now
and my step throwing days are long since gone. I’ve replaced them with cross ;-)

You are correct Chris!
All 72 of them.
The Spanish Steps were the grand entrance to a Kalorama neighbor mansion that no longer exists.
The bottom of the steps is now a small parking lot, but in the early evening, after the cars have gone, it’s quite romantic.
Until the horde of alleycat racers descend upon it.
To tell you the truth, I have no idea how many people will show up.
I have an article about me and the Obamalleycat and this race coming out in the Montgomery County Gazette next week and the GW Hatchet might be there filming again.
So there might be a big turnout! Who knows!
The race will head out from the Spanish Steps and head up to Rock Creek Park, where the majority of the race will take place. An then off to an undisclosed, not known to even myself (yet), location!

Interesting
There’s a little circle at, oh, 23rd and R maybe? that’s one of my favorite locations in the city. half dozen steps up two flights, in the middle of an old city block, and at the top is a cul-de-sac covered almost entirely by an unbelievable old (elm?) tree. I always wondered about those steps too. Seem awfully random.

I'd come but i'd finish first and drink all the beer....
and I have the little issue of ‘revenge’ with a certain ‘wanker’ who beat me last time. I’m racing a crit as a support race to the TDU that night but i’ll be there in spirit and will certainly be indulging in beers as the race is on one of the cafe strips here in Adelaide.
Just a Q for the admin guys…..as CycleGirl and I are going to be sending a fair bit of TDU stuff what is the best way for us to post without taking over the show? Can we erect a little outdoor bar on the side of the Cafe for a week so that people can join us in our little celebration of all things cycling? Or is it best that I just put a link to my blog in??
errrr....am i supposed to sign this??
I think most of us who can't be there are hoping you do take over
with some awesome fan posts with LOTS of pics for us. :-) But that could just be me. :-)

I'll be taking over....
Plenty of pictures, gossip and ohh what i get up too…. Oh that will be so boring … hahahaha…
c’mon Flatbagger, it’s the Aussies turn to shine here… Let’s show them what we can do..
We don't stop playing because we grow old, we grow old because we stop playing.

Can we even put links to music here!.....
But if I hear Midnight Oil’s ‘King of the Mountain’ one more time…..I’ll send a letter to the Minister for the environment!!
CG’s doing the TDU social column whereas I’ll be out there busting my ass, using up my testosterone resources in double quick time getting some action shots and providing roving race reports for you lovely guys on PdC.
Can’t decide between ‘Shine’ by Vanessa Amarosi…or ‘Shine’ by Collective Soul.
errrr....am i supposed to sign this??
Hm
Maybe I am thinking of the same place. Cemetary on the north side of the street? I’ll do what we can to get there. But to Sui Juris, I’ll be in long pants and warm clothes. So thanks for the bike offer but…

That's two trips to the other coast in a month.
The weather up by you must be horrible. :-P
