and yep i love these derny’s too, but my favourite all-time track race would be a team elimination race where they race it out the last two teams left, not the sprint with maybe 4 teams left I have been seeing

the Derneys shield the rider from the wind and they are able to go super fast.
It is supposedly very dangerous.
But what's difficult about it?
Just peddal as hard as you can if you are the Derny?

The Derneys are motorized. Teh rider is immediatley behind the Derney. The derney driver
must know how to place his rider to win.
The riders are drafting behind the derny's
and they have to tell the drivers of they are going too fast or too slow or just right,

On the thread the other day I posted a note about it.

I timed a couple of the laps
fairly roughly, first rider across the line to first rider across the line, hoping that no-one overtook out of camera sight, and it was about 14-15s a lap which works out at just over 30mph (48kph). From what I remember, Chris Hoy was doing 10.5s for a single lap, and the team 2-man 2-lap was 22-25s.

LOL. It is sort of a party and racing put together, and yes the velodrome hears the same music we do.
it is not UCI sanctioned and the riders get paid a lot when they win, and even just to show up sometime.
