Evil Incarnate - In Person
A chance to worship the Evil One himself, in person.
. . . an evening with Jonathan Vaughters
Those in the Bay Area might want to check it out. I nominate Jimbo's place for the pre-party. It's probably walking distance to the event. There is also a cocktail reception and a "exclusive group ride". It's not cheap, but it's for a good cause. Maybe we could get a table in the back and heckle him, or pretend there's a swarm of bees, or ...

The cocktail party thing
is definitely within walking distance of my house. Let me check with Mrs. Jimbo and see if she mind if a bunch of my “internet friends” come over to drink. Can’t imagine why she would say no…
Why wouldn't she?
I mean, what’s the worst that could happen?
"go to work, send your kids to schoo,l follow fashion, act normal, walk on the pavements, watch T.V., save for your old age, obey the law; Repeat after me: I am free"
I wonder how much flights are to SF? Let;s take a look at Expedia..........
I mean uh... hasn't that ever occurred to you, man? Sir?
It's for the NorCal league!!!!!!!!
You’ve got this inside-out. Ya’ll know about the NorCal High School Mountain Bike Racing League, dontcha? We had about 360 young men & women out racing at five big all-day events last season. Kids! On bikes! Racing!!!
It’s super-duper awesome. I’m talking as a coach & parent.
My daughter went from a nerve-wracked newbie….

…to a race-hungry monster…

last season. She’s counting the days until her school’s team’s insurance kicks in in January so she can start training again.
Meanwhile, she’s been mixing it up on the track..

…and on the road…

So, don’t hold back — this is waaaaaaaay more than bumpin’ elbows with JV. This program ROCKS ROCKS ROCKS for the kids!!!!!!

Greg
that’s sofa king cool. Tell your daughter she has random internet people cheering for her (or, umm, don’t). Seriously great stuff.
Woooooot!! :D
Thanks! …but, yeah, I’ll keep it under my hat. ;)
I tell ya, this program has soooo many kids nuts about bikes in a positive, serious way. It’s wonderful!

Great
You want me to give money to enable more kids to clog up my local roads and trails?… just kidding. Sounds like a great program. My kids are way to young for it now, but soon enough. I will dip into my Pinarello fund and show some love.
yes!!! yes!!!! clog away!!! :D
Sweeeeet….. :) :) :)
The program expanded to a Southern California league last year, and there is a nascent USA-wide organization. Rumors are that Colorado is gearing up.
Sweeeeeeeet. :)
+1
Tell your daughter she has random internet people cheering for her (or, umm, don’t).
just fantastic. High School MtB racing? wow
Moo
what he said!
Fabulous stuff going on in NorCali with the high school program.
They also take donations of used – but still functional – cycling stuff and clothing. So if you’re cleaning out the closets, something to consider.
Just like DS Little Bear's imagined future
only drier.

Greg's talking about building materials - are we gonna split hairs here?
I mean uh... hasn't that ever occurred to you, man? Sir?
Now this is exactly why Greg can't let his daughter know about the random internet people cheering for her.
Well this and the occasional yelling at kids to get off the lawn.
