Well that's depressing

but I’m kinda happy it’s the off-season, need a cycling break for bit, by middle November I’ll be crying in pain. Until then, I have a undefeated football team and a bunch of hockey upstarts playing great to entertain myself…oh and some bball as well, guess it could be worse……yep by middle November I will be suffering withdrawal.

'sheep or a lamb'?

Is this another existential question…? (the butcher will tell you – it’s definitely lamb. He doesn’t sell mutton…)

Oh my… you said the ‘V’ word! I’m a bit scared to, these days. Ah, bollocks I am… GOOOO VINO!!!

by Lou... on Oct 18, 2009 8:04 AM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

Definitely existential, but I have to think

that Vino’s at least worth a sheep, although the lamb is sweeter.
You know, I’ve never been a huge fan of Vino – to me he had the annoying traits of Voeckler – but I think his performance since he’s been back is gutsy. The suspension is over, so all power to him.

And

I’ve gotta say that my Vino-fandom is not new. (although there was, admittedly, a time when I had the righteous shits with him, LOL). But you’re right – his comeback has shown that the man has a pair (as if there was ever any doubt about that). And it’s about time that people started getting used to the idea of him winning ;-).

I must admit that I am a little apprehensive about his first big win, to come… I am gonna be a bit upset by the inevitable reaction to him on the podium… but then, I am sure that I will be able to take courage and inspiration from the man himself, who will no doubt be the very embodiment of tough-skinned dignity as he stands there proudly :-)

by Lou... on Oct 18, 2009 8:38 AM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

He will win something soon I think

He’s very focused. I’m not sure if it will be dignity or ‘fuck you’ but I can live with it either way. I was devastated at the 2007 TDF announcement, but I believe in second chances. Our whole justice system is predicated on it.
He’ll stare them down Lou, I’m sure of it. And he may be brash, and his taste in jerseys is questionable, but I admire his chutzpah ;)

Once all that is over, we will run various important threads to do with hair and clothes. Majope also suggested a cyclist body adornment thread. This was deemed to be a Good Idea. It’ll be OHN before you know it ;-)

Here’s an idea – Why not start sifting through the years hottitude threads and pick out the best photos and create a calender. You really should start soon though because you can’t have Mr. January picked out too soon.

Is that ok with everyone? ;-)
