Cyclocross World Cup, Plzen, LIVE!
What better way to shake off those post-Lombardia blues than to indulge in a bit of muddy fun? The crossers head to the Czech Republic today for the second round of the world cup. The first round in Treviso was won by Niels Albert; can the Prince from Tremelo strike twice? He's been in prolific form so far this season but lost to Sven Nys in the Superprestige fixture last Sunday, and Nys' form is clearly building. Or can home boy Zdenek Stybar upset the Belgian party to improve on his recent string of second places? Enjoy!
Coverage is on Cycling TV and Sporza, starting at 13:50 CEST and 14:00 CEST respectively, links here. There is a start list here.

"If I were World Road Race Champion, I would wear black shorts. That probably has more to do with me being on the wiser side of 30 and understanding better that the decisions I make now never really go away. White shorts would not be something I'd be proud of...." - David Millar, in Rouleur.
If I can get the Sporza link to work, I will
For some brilliant reason Ctv has decided that their cross packages won;t include the US
I mean uh... hasn't that ever occurred to you, man? Sir?
Bah!

Albert attacks on the slight uphill into the finish line
No one breaking, but Page & Simunek now distanced.
Albert small gap of 1 or 2 sec
after very slight falter of Stybar on the steep hill, Nys blocked in 3rd. Coming together again now, Stybar correcting his mistake. 6 & a bit laps to go.
Go Niels!!!!

Arrrr
Nys got stuck on the steep incline, had to dismount, Stybar and Pauwels of course caught up, Albert now +25 sec all of a sudden.

It's a bummer not being able to get the feed
Thanks for doing this

Thanks for rubbing that in..
No wait, I’ll think of you when I’m on the beach. I’d love to see a race, but I’d whine in the wet and cold and utterly disgrace myself.

Nys taking the hill very well now, took the lead in the chase group
but Stybar has retaken it before the stairs.
Hurrah Albert! Doing a little dance to celebrate :-)
Thanks so much for doing this Ted…you’re a star! I’ll have to try and get it on Crosstube later….so annoyed!

So there's no jinx on the rainbow jersey in cyclocross?
