Photos from cyclingseason 2009.

The cyclingseason is over, it really is Drew. Everybody is relaxing on vacation en we had a tremendous year. There for the 6th review of this year. This time it's with pics. Are there pics who blew your mind? Are there pics who were very funny, pics who were ouch, etc post them and build a sort "picturebook" of this cyclingseason.

There is only one rule. The pictures has to be functional and really has something to do with cycling. So, ladies, it's not an Hottitude thread!  Well that said I will start with 1 or 2 or 3 pics.

Jens Voigt. Just one word Power!  I think the pic is made by a pdc'er wasn't it? Dunno but man what a beautifull shot.

Skill fell.. There will be nicer pics but you know.. The nicest one is not always the best one

And the last one for now. How does a cyclist look when he went 150%?

I hope more are enthusiastic because I've seen a lot of beautiful pics this season which I didn't store..

Excellent idea!

Here are a few images that define the cycling season for me. They were all taken by my brother-in-law who is currently photographing in Vietnam and Thailand. These were all taken at this year’s Spring Classics.

For me Kenny was a revelation this season…coming back from his surgery….to a great string of wins in the spring…to his perserverance in the Tour…what a season. I have seen this picture made into a beautiful pencil drawing…given to Kenny for his birthday!!!

Any more good pics of the Skil boys??

I saved three photos of Fabian after Mendrisio

They are superb, but try as I might, I can’t get them into this post. They were for just such an occasion as this. Is there any where that tells me how to do it? I have a Mac, but others have no problems because of that. It’s the driver who’s at fault :(

with war and sport being mentioned in the same sentence. That said, I wanted to put these photos here because to me they epitomised the struggle and Tony does look battle hardened here – just a different sort of battle.

I'm thinking that's the one with the question mark inside a little blue square...

I'll try to explain.

Click right mouse on the non existing image. Click: Copy Image-URL, or something like that.
Open a new tab, or don’t and past, control+v it in your address something. The way to track down pics

I appreciate your patience.

I actually thought that the image just wasn’t there :(

It can have 2 reasons

1. The site forbids deeplinking
2. The format of the picture can not be displayed. It has tobe a jpg format. (I think)

But if you get the previous parts you also can post pictures, that was your problem no?

1 Found your image
2. Click right mouse
3 Copy Image-URL
4. Tick the little tree, most richt pic, in your commentbox thing
5 Paste the image URL

Or did you already know that?

by Frinking on Oct 27, 2009 5:49 AM EDT up reply actions

Thanks, I just copied your instructions onto a separate file

PS. Were you a teacher in another life?

This took ages to load so I went to the site

fairly certain that the picture would be as it is. I’ve bookmarked it ;)

1. coup d’etat
2. putsch

You'd better be careful or else there'll be a 'putsh' against your evil dictatorship...

I’m personally planning a ‘coup d’etat’ =)

It's good to have a conscience following you round Ted

or a coach … or a teacher… don’t you think? Fortunately I would never do a grammar check… on any thread ;)

I meant,

you spelt it wrong first, 5 posts up.

by tedvdw on Oct 28, 2009 6:57 AM EDT up reply actions

I'm thinking I typed it wrongly

but as you say, bad spelling is unacceptable. On a serious note I would never correct someone here seriously unless they wanted it just as I wouldn’t start on questionable grammar. It would be ‘knocking off work to lay bricks’.

"How strange it was to see men doing something beautiful. Something pointless and elegant." Tim Winton, 'Breath'

by Seahorse on Oct 28, 2009 7:01 AM EDT up reply actions

Wrongly, rightly

(although current use, mostly in the US I guess, tends to be ‘wrong’ in this case (I like the double meaning)). But seriously, you’re saying that it was not spelt but instead typed wrongly?! Hey if yours was a typo then his might well have been. All I’m saying is: odd to point out a spelling (or typing) error when you just made one yourself in the same word.

by tedvdw on Oct 28, 2009 7:35 AM EDT up reply actions

It was done in jest... but perhaps not a good joke

In future i’ll leave the correcting to you.

I'm hopeless :(

I make enough typos to make many wince I’m sure… Anyway, thanks for that :)

I've commented on nearly all of them below...

except Vino and EBH. The Vino one still makes me giggle, but I’m frustrated because recently I saw another well known cyclist in a jersey with his face on it, but I can’t remember where! It was an Italian I think.
The pic of Horillo’s airlift is incredibly dramatic.

It's not the picture of himself that disturbs me

it’s that strange green, blurry bit between his real shoulder and his photo shoulder that looks like there’s a big hole in his body.

You guys have taken some really great photos!!!

I am jealous for two reasons…first, I can’t take a good picture to save my life!!! I am terrible. Second, I can’t get to any of the big races to see the boys do their thing…and I am missing out!! But thanks to you guys for sharing…really!!!

Does anyone have any more good photos of the Skil boys? How about some of EBH or Lovkvist? They are two of my favorite up and coming riders.

Thanks again!!

I have some more of Lovkvist where the one above came from, but they're all quite similar.

I also have some quite fuzzy ones of EBH from the Tour of Britain podium, but some aren’t too bad. I’ll post links at lunchtime when work will allow me on Facebook!
