Giro d'Italia 2010 Presentation ..........LIVE

Buongiorno tutti fashionistas and other assorted Grand Tour freaks. Today it's time for the second GT presentation of the year and you can bet your last lire it's going to be the most watchable. Expect lots of Coppi-tributes, appalling eyewear , scantily clad women and absolutely no images of Il Grande dell'Austin.
Steephill has a full rundown of the rumored course with links to sources for those who want study up before the presentation. They also have links to videofeeds that are scheduled to start at 16:30 CEST (10:30 US eastern)
First person to spot Pippo may or may not win a life-supply of hair-product. Enjoy!

that's what they all say ;-)
(there is a reason for it, i.e. the nature of the job means they are far more exposed to different types of pollen than most people. & I have to say, any time I see shots of them riding through rape fields (Romandie this year springs to mind) I shudder)

he's not a one-day race rider... stage race rider...

Well he can pretty much do whatever he wants but the Giro Tour would test his limits and put him
down in history even more

hell, i'm all for that... but not in 2010 i think... he wants to stomp that tdf in defense of his title

Why not?
Only 8 stages, so it wouldn’t sap them the way the Giro would if they’re planning on doing the Tour.

I think they will be stacked for Cali
not that they will be there to compete seriously

think I’d rather go up the mountains
by civetta on Oct 24, 2009 11:48 AM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
I'm not an expert
but is it really a good idea to go all the way to Cali? is that good prep for the Tour?

2 months is plenty of time to recover from jet lag.
Many think that the Giro-Tour double is too hard, so ToC is an alternate for those who think that.

But it might not be enough racing...because then you have to wait til the Dauphine to get more action
and then to the Tour…it will be interesting to see

by Frinking on Oct 24, 2009 11:51 AM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
I don't know where they placed Cataluyna....It just seems like a lot of flying and not being at their best for any race
with how many time zones they are crossing

romandie is the end of april/start of may... last giro prep race
tour of cali is now in cataluna’s calendar spot… not sure where cataluna moved to…
