Bosisio tested positive
Italian Gabriele Bosisio (LPR Brakes-Farnese Vini) tested positive for blood booster Erythropoietin (EPO) in an out-of-competition control, according to press agency RCD. The International Cycling Union (UCI) tested Bosisio September 2 at his home in Rogeno, Italy.
Bosiso, master helper of Di Luca. Won a stage in the Giro 2007 and wore the pink jersey for a couple of days.
When do we get the denial and the story of the big unjustice he has to deal with. In an hour?
When do we get the story oops.. maybe i did it.. But it was just once. After the B-sample? Also my guess..

I am so shocked that I have to st down.
And after such a great year too. That 87th placing at Brixia is the stuff legends are made from!
Plus I can’t imagine anyone on LPR doping.
Let’s see… he turned 29 this August so he’s in the prime of his career. Physically he should not be stronger. And he got caught doping.
But he did have a great year
His job was to help DiLuca win the Giro and that nearly succeeded. CQ points only tell you so much.
This has to filed in the “least surprising news of -09” category though
I don;t remember Bosisio anywhere near Killer during the Giro
Of course that might be because the camera was on someone else.
I missed the last days
but I seem to recall him being there until the final selection as usual? Could be mistaken.
I remember him too
always at the front until the last few k.
Oh lordy.
Helsy will not like this….
"If I were World Road Race Champion, I would wear black shorts. That probably has more to do with me being on the wiser side of 30 and understanding better that the decisions I make now never really go away. White shorts would not be something I'd be proud of...." - David Millar, in Rouleur.
I was just thinking about how she championed him...whoops

Bah.
I can’t believe how much I stood up for him and slated Di Luca and then…this. Gah!!!! :(
Normally when i see a rider caught for doping i’m just like yeah, ok. But this one actually sucks, oh Gabriele…
Venga Caisse d'Epargne!
I know...this one's a bit icky. I kinda liked the guy too!

It makes sense that if DiLuca was doped, Bosisio would have to be doped to help DiLuca
If I just had one more gear, I...
We should all know by now
Wild card at the Giro? pretty good warning sign.
Wow...Another shining example of why I am just so damn proud that the UCI isn't going to require Pro Conti Teams
to be in the bio passport starting next year. Those teams are always so clean and do it the right way…
But they are required to be in the bio passport program
If they want wild card status and participate in the “historical” races. Or will UCI change that?
Staring at the swim team gets you killed by a gang of dancing ninja men who know how to twirl.

They changed it for 2010...I found the article on cycling news that they stuck it into but it says that
“Meanwhile, it was also decided that the separate classification for Professional Continental teams participating in the UCI’s biological passport programme will be scrapped due to a lack of interest. "
It would be in there best interest to be in some kind of program but it isn’t required

yeah I remember that...
Lack of interest on the part of whom, precisely? Teams? Race organizers? The UCI?
As I understood it, the main prohibiting factor for teams (apart from sheer unwillingness) was the amount the UCI were charging to be part of it. That might be what caused the “lack of interest”, I guess. But it is worrying.
I didn't think that there was any lack of interest
a few of the smaller teams were a bit hacked off that the UCI rather arbitrarily rejected their application to join the whole team programme and instead stiffed them for the rather more expensive per rider version, but they pretty much all signed up.
You can read the original UCI press release
here. I’ve still no idea what “decided to abandon the classification of UCI Professional Continental Teams participating in the biological passport programme as it had not stimulated the anticipated interest” actually means
Thought the title said Basso at first...whoof luckily not
eh another Di Luca puppet got caught, what’s new? How on Earth is LPR not dead yet?
Dammit Elk! I don't care if it's your mating season, you are disturbing my peaceful sleep! Just STFU!
Come back here and take what's coming to you
You yellow bastards!

but if untreated an infection can get in
and you could lose a limb. Best to amputate the LPR team and hopefully save the peloton.
As soon as I saw the LPR logo on the photo (I’m not as knowledgeable as you guys) I thought “Oh, no suprise there, then”.
He just considered testing positive
Didn’t actually go through with it.

You are on a roll tonight :)
"How strange it was to see men doing something beautiful. Something pointless and elegant." Tim Winton, 'Breath'
Biondo was also the name
of this year’s Romanian entry to the Eurovision song contest
I'm stunned and appalled that you remember that

How about
Italy 1958?
Norway 1966? (she would have walked it with “Er hat ein knallrotes Gummiboot”)
It was good
but not so good I really meant to post it twice.
Always interesting to see who he says he’s out training with, Pinotti, too.
Pinotti
unrivaled.

but then
we are talking about the crono, and we all know this discipline is biased against Italians (not named Pinotti or Coppi).

SO Please tell me
Why he was tested only a month ago and they were able to share test results …. and yet for anyone famous it seems to take much longer.
Moo
tis true, actually
once spent a whole August in Paris & nearly died of starvation because it was practically impossible where I was staying (Passy, horribly enough) to find anywhere to eat or buy food
