Techs-Mechs: Poll- What is your TT rig?
Jens' recent post about Colnago had wondering how popular TT rigs are with the cycling public. Personally, I don't won anything that would be considered a time trial bike. Just standard road rigs. But how about everyone else?

Cervelo P3-SL
But I started with tri’s, so maybe that’s cheating for the sake of this poll…

Nope
I’m trying to get a sense of the demand for them. I started with sprint tris myself, but back then it was just clip-ons on a road bike. Now i don’t even own clip-ons. Just always liked the cycling part of tris more than the running and swimming.

older s-works transition frame
Zipp vuka front end;
808s
Funny story about the frame: it showed up by accident in the shop—sent by Specialized from Germany and wound up in Abilene. It fit me, so after some back-and-forth with Specialized, I wound up trading a set of c-record delta brakes for it.
I use 9-speed shifters in friction-mode, so I’ve given some thought to slapping the c-record rear derailleur on instead of the ultegra that’s currently attached.

Softride Roadwing
with Syntace C2 clip-ons. Currently nine-speed with a double, but I might put a compact on it soon.
It’s actually my only running road bike, and I like it. Of course, I know that makes me doubly weird—-I like the Softride and I ride a tri bike most of the time.

Do the stares just fade into the background, over time? :)

I love the discipline but just don't have the need or money for a separate rig.
I only do about 4 or 5 TT’s a year and spend little or no time training for them. Besides, I love crushing guys with their sweet-ass decked out TT bikes. Truth be told though, I’m jealous of some of the rigs I see. A friend of mine has a Ridley that makes me swoon, and he makes it go very fast.

Yes, beating guys with nice aero tt rigs is great fun!
For most, a dedicated tt bike isn’t very practical or needed. When I was still living in the states, I did about 3-4 tts a year but did duathlons as often as I could find them, which in Arizona is quite often. So, for me, I would reverse my seat post, push my seat all the way forward and clip on my bars. It is very far forward but pretty aero.
If I just had one more gear, I...

I just tuck my jersey in and don’t wear gloves (old skool style).

Total spare parts bike
Cannondale CAAD4 frame. DA 8 gruppo from gawd knows when. CH Aero kit for rear wheel. Syntace clip on s on some basic bullhorns.
No matter though, it rolls and the TTs here are mostly flat, so weight isn’t an issue.

You turned my CAAD4 into you're TT bike?
Ok, but the next time I visit, I’m going to all my pulls in the aero position…

I had an Argon 18 Mercury
Great bike! I traded it for a single speed mtn bike though because that is a lot more fun to ride and I didn’t ever want to do another TT.
