CycleTweet of the Day
First-person wisdom from the world of Cycling:
@manuelquinziato:
For who asked me: Because I can't believe that in a television news half the time speaks about WTF is happening in big brother's house!
OK, I may not be in a position to do translation jokes, and future nominees will contain more legible wisdom, but this one... as he says, WTF?
[update] OK, Big Brother is a TV series in Italy (and elsewhere). So Quinz is taking on the media! Chapeau.

This stems from his tweet the other day when he said
he was ashamed to be Italian every time he watched the news. Most people assumed he was talking about Berlusconi or something, but apparently not! They spend too much time discussing Big Brother!

Yep I thought he meant Mussolini as well. I mean Berlusconi.

Chris, we have Big Brother here too, and in many countries in Europe...
….it hasn’t made it to the States yet?! Well I never… Keep it out as long as possible I would!

Sheesh, Chris.
It was even featured in an episode of Doctor Who. Where have you been?

So it was, along with The Weakest Link. That was a super episode.

One of the best.
I love the last scene where the Daleks try to push the Doctor around because they have Rose. Tennant was a great Doctor because he brought a zany energy that was entirely appropriate to the role, but man—Eccleston could act circles around him.

Eccleston was too serious for my liking
I never believed him, despite his acting abilities. Tennant, a bit high-strung, yes.

Ah. I loved his intensity.
But if we all agreed on everything, where would be the fun in that?
by majope on Nov 2, 2009 1:13 PM EST up reply actions 0 recs
Intense, good word. Always thought Dr Who was (even) a bit daft, more of a kids’ show than Star Trek, for example. In my mind the, the intensity of Eccleston was misplaced. When he smiled, I wondered if the kids found him as scary as the Daleks :)

Are you kidding, there have been 11 series of that stupid show here
and when it comes to the media, I wonder if the Italian media is using twitter as a source for major news networks? Cause if not they have nothing on the American media!
Look, it's a bird...no, it's a plane....oh never mind it's just fucking balloon boy
