for whatever reason I read the race recap from Stage 17 of the 2006 Tour yesterday, just to remember how exciting it all was before the rash flared up.

I was trying to find Wiggos previous TdF results
and stumbled across this article, and it was so odd knowing what we know now and all. I had to share. And I had Stage 17 Tivo’d until a few months ago. That was some stage.
That was one of the best days at PdC ever.
I can so remember the race thread, the gap growing. It was unbelievable, unfortunately there was a reason for that.

Yeah, and depressed. Hence the "no alcohol" rule imposed on the team and the apparent lack of motivation this season. A real shame.
