De Fauw commits suicide
De Fauw has commited suicide. De Fauw rode in Grenoble just 2 days ago, where he become seventh with Marc Hester, and was mulitple Belgian National Champion.
2 years ago he was involved in a heavy chrash with Isaac Galvez. Isaac Galvez died of his injuries and this brought de Fauw in a deep depression. He struggled with this depression for a long time.
He was just 28.
I hope you found your rest.
Found a guestbook on his site.

What a beautiful sentiment: 'I hope you found your rest'. Vale...

Bullshit
They said he had a depression. If anything, that indicates he was over it, clinically speaking. I’m serious about this: you present it as if the cause of his death was his depression. That is not sure! It might well have been but you should leave the conclusion to the official investigation/inquest. Don’t mix fact and opinion without making it clear which is which. Also, it would be better anyway to not speculate about such things.

Well.. I checked and you are right.
I corrected it. I think it’s proper now. If you still disagree you are kind enough to say it..

So sad....
"If I were World Road Race Champion, I would wear black shorts. That probably has more to do with me being on the wiser side of 30 and understanding better that the decisions I make now never really go away. White shorts would not be something I'd be proud of...." - David Millar, in Rouleur.

Very sad, sorry for his family and friends
Thanks Frinking for posting this.
Details re depression etc not so important right now, it will sort itself out, important thing is your post so we have the sad news, appreciate it. It would be hard to commit suicide without being depressed imho.

Very Sad...Keisse said that he was acting quite normal too after they drove back from Grenoble and said that he would call him
about training the next day. I’m sure it would be very hard living with that Galvez crash always being in the back of your mind

I saw the movie Seven Pounds with Will Smith yesterday
Got me thinking about De Fauw. The human mind can be a strange thing…

Apparently he was considered a snitch when he talked about doping at Quick Step.
