Friggin' OFF-SEASON! We're going stir-crazy- and here's the proof.

Pliny… I have no words. (I am sure that you can feel the death-stare that I am aiming at you, LOL)

by Lou... on Dec 2, 2009 2:11 AM EST reply actions   0 recs

You know what we need?

Lots of mid-week cross races. That would keep us from resorting to this…

by dansel on Dec 2, 2009 10:51 AM EST up reply actions   0 recs

Or maybe a Wednesday Session...

Early yet out in the Surf Zone, though.

It was just a long race--Edvald Boasson Hagen, on the Giro

Oh look, it's Wednesday!

That had quite passed me by…

by Albertina on Dec 2, 2009 12:19 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

very early

And I think I need a bike ride.

by gavia on Dec 2, 2009 12:25 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

Ride ride ride!

Riding stimulates creativity. At least this is the excuse I use when the girlfriend asks, incredulously, if I’m really going out for 3 hours when I have work to do.

by dansel on Dec 2, 2009 4:52 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

yep

Always have to go out and play before writing. Otherwise, you get crappy writing ;-)

That song and video is EPIC!!!!

and for all the wrong reasons.

Look, it's a bird...no, it's a plane....oh never mind it's just fucking balloon boy

Personally i think Frinking should go on an adventure to the Land of the Angelsacian

so he can write about it… because that vid is scary. So Pliny did your wear your jeans that high? And ‘they’ say cycling is homoerotic. Lol.

What/whoever takes your fancy... I'm just in the mood for a good 'yarn'

as we would say in Australia…. and really you have a good history of making something out of nothing :)

It's almost coincidence..

But favorite song now is a cover of Ben Folds Five – One angry dwarf and 200 solemn faces .. Well then a good Dutch version of the song.. Just dreaming (:

by Frinking on Dec 3, 2009 3:42 AM EST up reply actions   0 recs

I'm not quite getting the coincidence,

but if it’s about being creative then maybe it fits :)

yeah, as Lou says, it’s the off-season, about 5 months ’til spring here…

close…I actually live in the world’s biggest environmental rogue state, one that’s currently coming to terms with possible prisoner abuse in Afghanistan…probably not the country you’re thinking of, though.

Too cryptic for me. Thought you might mean Oz

but you don’t live here and prisoners in Afghanistan haven’t been on the agenda. Anyway, I obviously have no clue … not unusual for me I’m afraid..

Thanks Drongo ….

Ooh.. I heard something hocking..

Australia is responsible for 1.5% of the CO2, or other thing, emission.. That’s the most CO2 per head of the population.. You even beat the USA! and Japan! and… Woow i was shocked.. and concerned about this… There went my image about Australia…

by Frinking on Dec 4, 2009 4:05 AM EST up reply actions   0 recs

Ooops. Face it though, your image of Australia was always a bit tainted...

but yes, we need to get our act together. The fact that we have so much space and so many beautiful and low density living makes us complacent and that’s not OK.

then again, Holland beats China, and (I’m guessing) 90% of the world…

How many is a lot/one miljard people?

It’s obvious China can still go a long way.. And if it’s just 90% we are ding pretty ok.. Than we beat most of the civilized/more developed countries

Ok.. Based on this map forget what I said before

So wait,

by tedvdw on Dec 4, 2009 8:52 AM EST up reply actions   0 recs

oh yeah! I don’t know how to change it though, can you change it for me? Halifax Nova Scotia Canada. By the way where did you learn the abbreviation (Mpls)? Cool.

by plinytheelder on Dec 4, 2009 9:25 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

Jens made the map

Only he can update it. Or someone could copy it to his own account and update from there. That would be silly.

Uhm, I don’t know where I picked that up, probably either Prince or Smithers.

by tedvdw on Dec 4, 2009 9:39 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

Okay, let me get this straight

You’re saying Sydney is too far from civilisation and you live in Nova Scotia?

That is a little funny.

Can anyone in the English speaking world ever point the finger

at anyone else over ‘crassness’? It’s an art form…

hehe true enough

By the way I just read that there’s a move afoot to suspend us from the Commonwealth over our climate policies, as we’re contributing to flooding in other Commonwealth countries (Bangladesh, Maldives, etc.). General crassness, indeed.

Postcolonialism rocks... unless you're in Zimbabwe

and all the other small places that have been used up and spat out. Still such a move should squeeze money/aid out of other wealthier nations, so it’s no bad thing. Whether we do anything serious about climate change… well that’s another matter.

Indeed
