That's Los Angeles, not Louisiana. Anyhoo, got a friend of a friend who is looking for a jack of all trades bike that he can start riding with his daughter, and eventually in the woods and mountains. Since a hardtail mountain bike would fit the bill nicely (slicks for the road, knobbies off), he'd like to go this route. Budget is probably around $300, used or new doesn't matter as long as it's in good condition. Anyone have a shop that is nice to newbies and might have something they're unloading from 09?
