Dashing Through The Snow...... UTCX Day 11

120047642_medium

Snow!  Not much snow, just enough to make things interesting as Utah put the wrap on its 2009 Cyclocross Season.  Saturday's race featured another scenic locale, the Fort Buevnaventura State Park in Ogden Utah.  The race offered up double points for placings, so there was a solid turn out.  The Church Of The Big Ring crew walked off with the team bragging  rights for the series with wins by Art O'Conner and Ali Goulet.

Star-divide

Saturday marked the return to competition for Velo Bella's Kathy Sherwin.   Kathy took her return to the series in stride and won a close race over Sarah Kaufmann (Roaring Mouse/Bingham).  The ladies title appears to belong to Erika Powers of (Revolution Cycle/Peak Fasteners) since second placed  Dayna Deuter opted for the USGP race in Portland.

The Men's A race featured the weekly battle between  Ali Goulet (Church of the Big Ring) Bart Gillespie (MonaVie/Cannondale), fought to the end for the series title in Man's A.  Goulet won the day, now the final points tally will tell the tale of the series winner.   120047651_medium

There'd be no losing him in a whiteout, that's for sure.

I mean uh... hasn't that ever occurred to you, man? Sir?

180º hairpin turn with a barrier on the other side.. to the right out of frame.

also very slippery. This was Mens A last race of the day, six or seven classes before it. Packed ice and snow on asphalt.
