Below was my thoughts in the now shut down "Love it, or Leave it" mag.

To me it looks like one of those jobs you either like or dislike, I gotta say “I love it”. I’ve never ridden a madone but some guys I know who have raced on many a bike, say it’s a sweet ride (fast, stiff, and comfortable). They definitely need to be tweaking the kit to go on top of this ride.

Well you know what they say, mediocre minds think alike

here I added you on to my post.

Oh no

Odd

The frame is a bit garish for my tastes, but that’s the modern style, and I don’t mind the way they’ve done it, for that kind of thing. That is, it may be plastered with logos, but, if they’re going to plaster it with logos, then they’ve done it pretty well.

On the other hand, the kit to match is more sedate/traditional (grey ‘spots’ aside, and depending on the knicks, of course).

So it’s neither fish nor fowl, then. A bit like the early ’90s kits (wacky clobber, trad frames), but in reverse.

I'll tell you what's odd, aussie slang.

1st I had to look up drongo the other day when Seahorse pointed out that you weren’t one. Now this “wacky clobber”…?… clobber. I need to watch Croc. Dundee again.

apologies

I’ll try to minimise the vernacular

second/third definition here by way of explanation

no apologies, pour it on

I love the slang

in that case

this is not a bad site to brush up on it

by Drongo on Dec 9, 2009 11:43 PM EST up reply actions

But I think it's our duty to educate folks, don't you?

Geez, a while back I had cause to say “May your chooks turn into emus and kick your dunny down” – and virtually the entire sentence had to be explained!

I don't really like it...

I am not a Trek fan to begin with but I know that they are quality frames but the color scheme is a thumbs down for me

by Vlaanderen90 on Dec 10, 2009 12:06 AM EST reply actions

Yeah, that’s pretty much what I think. Better than the kit I guess.

I'm feverished, or the way you want to spell it

i found the bike ugly

to much visual contamination for my taste. like clean designs

Man, whoever rides that bike has got it down

seems when it comes to bike design Lance has a lot to learn…
I actually think the shack bikes look OK(except for the Shack logo on them) but I had to say that.

I don't think it sucks actually

but I’m a sucker for the looks of the new Madones. If they remove some of the clutter (the small RS logos) and go with regular black wheels I would think it’s ok.

Except for the Radioshack logo

It’s not that bad. And it’s not a fugly Carrera.

And what's wrong with that?

Lance in touch with his feminine side… I’d pay money to see that ;)

way too busy

with stuff written all over it but i think i like it.

Gack! Looks more suitable to Nascar than bicycle racing.

That’s pretty much the worst paint job I’ve seen on a Trek. Doesn’t take advantage of the lines of the frame at all.

by SpaceGuy on Dec 11, 2009 1:08 AM EST reply actions

Hmm

it has potential, i guess. part of the problem is the Trek and RS logos and font feel don’t match at all. so what could be kind of a cool idea ends up looking massively busy. i do like the gray-black-white fade with red highlights. but hmm, i think the mixed up fontage and over-exuberance kinda kills it for me. certainly not the worst bike i’ve ever seen.

Like the colors, not the clutter

I am really digging the dark grey on the wheels. Makes for a neat look. Minus, of course, those pesky Rs.
