Amgen Tour of California - Start list
Updated: Here are start times for the crono. Also, start list with back numbers from Steephill.tv. Yay!
Cyclingnews has the final list of riders posted here:
However, I haven't seen the back numbers posted anywhere yet. Last year I think they didn't come out until the morning of the prologue. I was a hero because I made 5 copies before I left and that's all that was available on the course except for some of the marshalls.
If you find a source, please post it here. Thanks!
Gav adds: Yes, please! Back Numbers! And wonders, why is the start list not yet on the official race site?

thanks for your support at the fund-raiser! :)
I’m off to see Road to Roubaix in Berkeley. ;)
My daughter is a newbie racer in the NorCal MTB league! Her first race is March 1. :)

I’m back now. Nice to see P to R on the big screen and glad the tickets go to a good cause. Heard the league now has 36 teams in Norcal alone and they get over 1000 spectators/competitors to each event.

three more sites
Still no dossard numbers, but here are three more sites with startlists.
For anybody Sac tomorrow, some team buses may have the TT start list taped up to the outside of the bus. These will have dossard numbers and, of course, will show the TT order. :) If I can find one of these, I’m going to snap a pic with the digicam and use it as a reference for the rest of the day.
-Greg, whose family will be on the 7-something-a.m. Amtrak to Sac tomorrow :)

Geez....that's a bloody good line up of talent.
It is also a race of big league losers comebacks is it not?
Hamilton, Landis, Mancebo, Boonen, Basso…..all we need is Vini, the Saunier Duval team and Chicken Legs and it would almost be a complete rogues gallery. I jest….wish i was there.
I have a new strange lump in my head.
errrr....am i supposed to sign this??

I hope that is a welcome lump and all goes well with you.
Also hoping that those fires didn’t affect you personally or your family.

This lump is you implant, right?
If so, how you doing?

Yeh man...32 staples behind my ear...but I'm good
…out of hospital within 48 hours and i feel good enough to ride today. Only a little wooziness and no balance problems. My surgeon even managed to save part of my own natural hearing which may help the implant translate…might need to get a new helmet to accommodate the processor embedded in my skull though…switch on in 20 days and counting.
The fires have affected everyone in Australia…it was one of the best Melbourne day rides the Kinglake/Marysville loop and i was only there a couple of months back for the Jayco Sun Herald Tout (that Stuey won)…and now it will forever be tinged with extreme grief. My best mate is a Paramedic there…he is not talking about it yet which for a Paramedic says a lot.
errrr....am i supposed to sign this??

Fucking horrible about the fires
just horrible… Dan and I will have a beer in honor of your new toy and in memory of your lost countrymen tomorrow in Santa Rosa.

Looks like Rock Racing
has collected quite a team of riders. But they are old riders. Which is why I don’t understand Michael Ball not getting a Pro Continental license. You can’t play “we’ll do it next year” with these guys. And they aren’t going to get the invites to the big races in their current position. Ball strikes me as being passionate about racing – but dumb.

I don't think ANYONE here...
on PdC (and I think there are some serious minds here when it comes to professional bike racing) knows what Michael Ball’s plan is.
Hell, I don’t think Michael Ball knows what Michael Ball’s plan is.

I know his plan
his plan is to “shake up cycling”… “make it cool”… “kick some serious ass”… “take no prisoners”… “get, like, totally laid”… or some combination thereof

Got You.
As long as it doesn’t involve doing paper work, right?

As I understand it,
Ball is very familiar with members of the legal profession. If he couldn’t be bothered to do the Pro Continental licensing work himself, he sould have put some lawyer on the job a year and a half ago.
by saluki on Feb 14, 2009 12:27 PM EST up reply actions 0 recs
And what about Landis?
Is he planning to follow OUCH up the road to a Pro license, or is he going to skip out after this year and join a real team. If he’s going to stick with OUCH, it could be a long time before he gets back into the big shows. More wasted years.
by saluki on Feb 14, 2009 12:13 PM EST reply actions 0 recs
Depends on his results
If he does well in the ToC, he will be off to a bigger team. No question.

This year?
Or will he have to wait until next year? And who would give him a job? With Basso it was an Italian team picking up an Italian rider. And Liquigas doesn’t seem to be going for that squeeky clean image. Their payoff will most likely be a Giro win this year. And a Vuelta win for Basso isn’t out of the realm of possibility either. Now, assuming that Floyd does well it the TDC, and I think he will, who will take the chance on him.
