Leipheimer

I’m quite interested in the leadership dynamic within Astana, and would prefer that things work out well for Levi.

Go Levi! Go Jens!! Go Tony! Go Stuey! Go George! Go Chris! Go CVV! Go Oscarito!

Yikes, it appears that I’ll be cheering for a lot of riders :-)

And I just can’t get over that yellow Columbia kit. Images of the movie TRON keep flashing before my eyes…

Horner

Gotta vote for my fellow Oregonian, and I don’t mean that newspaper.

Rogers

Gotta support an Aussie and he is the best suited of the bunch for the overall.

That and I think (hope) that he’s had his run of bad luck and this is going to be a great year for him. He showed good form down under and I’m sure that Columbia wouldn’t mind a win in the TOC, so he’s probably been targeting this little race in Cali.

My bet?

Floyd Landis.

Laugh if you must.

Dollar bet anyone? You don’t even have to guess the winner!

I'm rooting for Floyd

I was surprised to see the number of votes he got.

If OUCH defeats Astana...

that will be crazy, as Astana has a Tour caliber team here. And before people say that Astana has eyes down the road in July, don’t forget that Floyd’s road to the TdF that year, included winning the ToC.

Bauke?

That’s the sound Big Bird makes.

Ok... That was so totally inapropiate..

Bauke Mollema.. It’s Dutch hero.. The sparkle in a black sky.. The red flower in the grass..
….
Ok.. I can not explain it.. But I’m gonna look for revenge… So watch your back…

lol

Bauke’s definitely One To Watch this year.

by ursula on Feb 14, 2009 2:58 PM EST up reply actions

I had him on my VDS team

but dumped him just the other day for someone who produced better last year. I think he’s got a future, but this might not be the year he breaks out big. (Feel free to clip ’n save this post to throw back in my face at the end of the season.)

Google is my domestique.

Rory Sutherland

Why? He can climb well enough to survive the big hills, and he’ll rip through the TT. I think it’s gonna be an American-based rider rather than a PT rider winning, and Rory is the stage racer here.

by BDBrian on Feb 14, 2009 1:29 PM EST reply actions

I picked.. Don't know why..

 But I like the kid..

Doing the Amsterdam Marathon next year!

My wife is running it in under five hours, she hopes! She did Marine Corp in just over six.

I’m walking it, with a hoped time of under eight hours. Wink!

The obvious picks are Levi and Floyd.

This is Levi’s race to lose, and for Floyd, this is his Tour de France for 2009. Which is why I don’t think Rory Sutherland will be near the top; he’ll be helping Floyd. Though if Sutherland has a good TT, he could do well in GC.

But I’m sort of expecting that Garmin-Slipstream/Chipolte riders will be prominent on the TT results, as they likely will all year….If there were a TTT in this race, the whole team would be set up to do well in the GC.

Looks like

Jens is not here to contest this year. I was surprised that he didn’t try to contest the German Tour last year. Wonder if Jens is thinking about retirement.

Nope, he will be back next year...

and probably the year after!!!! YaY

and wondering if they post here at PdC (hehe)
