Just beat me to it. I’m glad I don’t have to do everything around here. Also, the airport connectivity sucks also. Also.

still ni neutral zone
the fans are screaming like teenaged girls as peloton rolls by. (or they are teenaged girls)
Dang again
I haven’t flown to LA in a while… the kids on this flight are better dressed than I am.

Waiting, waiting.....
looks like he’s messing with the riders. Psyche!
Oh, its a lollipop not a popsicle. My mistake.
Why do you pee after the neutral zone?
And why do you have to pee so early

That's what the guys on Tour tracker said
they had to get away from the crowds first.
Google is my domestique.
It may be early to you
but these guys probably left their hotels several hours ago and have spent an hour or so hanging around the start zone drinking coffee.

Haven't seen the Star Wars(?) movies
Or SF movie something
Some say the best things in life, are one the inside.
my 17 year old daughter had me put the 1977 Star Wars movie on the Netflix queue.
Her and her boyfriend are watching it on friday night at my house. She’s never seen it. Paaarrrtay!

They wanted 123456 but I got them 456123
I want the viewing to be pure. And I got the original theatrical version. None of this CGI remastered crap.
Ha! Good for you.
I wasn’t even sure the original theatrical was still available—the one where Han shoots first.
Google is my domestique.
George Lucas quote:
In essence, films never get finished, they get abandoned. At some point, you’re dragged off the picture kicking and screaming while somebody says, “Okay, it’s done.” That isn’t really the way it should work. Occasionally, [you can] go back and get your cut of the video out there
Big long list of changes here.
Google is my domestique.
For those concerned... the correct order is...
456555…
123 are dead to me.

But..but..
how can you not appreciate deathless dialog like “I am haunted by the kiss that you should never have given me”?
Or, more to the point, the six-and-a-half foot hunk of Jedi manliness that was Qui-Gon Jinn?
Google is my domestique.
"Which did you like better, Jedi or Empire Strikes Back?"
“Empire”
“Blasphemy”
“"Empire” had the better ending. I mean, Luke gets his hand cut off, finds out Vader’s his father, Han gets frozen and taken away by Boba Fett. It ends on such a down note. I mean, that’s what life is, a series of down endings. All “Jedi” had was a bunch of Muppets.

All right, look-
you’re a roofer, and some juicy government contract comes your way; you got the wife and kids and the two-story in suburbia-this is a government contract, which means all sorts of benefits. All of a sudden these left-wing militants blast you with lasers and wipe out everyone within a three-mile radius. You didn’t ask for that. You have no personal politics. You’re just trying to scrape out a living.

And the teddy-bears

Seconds back:
Michael Rogers – 24
David Zabriskie – 28
Lance Armstrong – 30
Thomas Lövkvist – 38
Z is in good shape - I think he may win
But I am keeping my eye on Lovkvist too
in the break:
Pieter Weening (Rabobank)
Jeffry Louder (BMC Racing Team)
Cameron Evans (OUCH p/b Maxxis)
Matthew Crane (Jelly Belly Cycling Team)
Robert Gunn (Fly V Australia)
Glen Chadwick (Rock Racing)
Hi all
Central Valley of California – mind numbing flatness
The peloton is currently in Kings County
which is where the book “East of Eden” by John Steinbeck took place.
Heh... Chris is in the air...
… and when he lands here in LA… he is going to wet himself with how astonishingly beautiful the weather is. Chamber of Commerce weather today here on the west side.

Yes, they're having fun
Bruyneel:
“We have Dean singing rap songs in the second car over the walkie talkie. Great entertainment while there’s nothing going on”
Allen Lim:
“6:45 is split. We are so boooored right now. May have to eat a sandwich. Ohhh right turn up. 4 more to go.”
Lim again:
“Oh, it wasn’t a real turn. Just a bend.”

Golden Gate bridge crossing
being discussed in the booth by race official as a possiblity again for next year or beyond
a Santa Rosa to San Francisco stage/
I hope they do it
it was a trifle disappointing what with the weather (plus, IIRC, that was neutral riding & the race didn’t technically start until after they crossed it).
across the bridge...
…up Fillmore…
…down Lombard…
…and a 2k wide-open sprint down The Embarcadero.
Ok like that’ll ever happen. Still.
my Dad called yesterday from FL
“I saw that a bike race went over the Golden Gate Bridge. Is Greg in the race?”
Priceless.

:D except that it's getting late here.....
not sure if I can stay awake watching this for 3-4 more hours….
I need a good guesstimate
Don’t know if I have the guts to see all this action, any guesses when they will be in Paso Robles?
Bork, bork, bork!
if they step on it they might make it in 3h,
more likely closer to 4 h.
I’m feeling guilty if I can’t stay awake for this, it’s not often we have to deal with the late/early mornings…
At first I was mad I had a rush project today
but now I think I’ll be able to finish it before the end of the race. :-)

Yeah, Cuddle or Cuddles,
it was an IHT reporter writing a story during the Tour last year who
revealed it….
So funny.
Yes yes yes, I saw some cows!
They were kinda strolling along in the same direction as the peloton. It’s the most exciting thing to happen today.
very very very flat
actually, the central valley is tilted slightly north south. the north end is about an inch or so higher than the south end. otherwise? it’s one of the flattest places EVAH.
here's a sample:
