Agritubel must have been angry
Interesting result. Wish I knew the details.

Mostly French regional teams there
They were far and away the biggest team in that race. I’d guess that explains the results. LOL, your explanation was more fun though ;-)

There's a ticker over at Directvelo
if you can read French and photos at velofotopro. It looks a bit like they sneaked into a juniors race.

So the DS was angry of their riders?

DS: You can't even win a junior race..
Riders together: Yes we can!
….
Ok.. Tired and stress together makes strange fantasy

A couple of points
Katyusha Continental was due to be there but apparently had trouble with visas.
Agritubel’s DS banned his team from sitting on the front of the peloton, but then told them that selection for Paris-Nice could also take place on those roads. That has to be inspiration for getting in to the break.
Over the first hill a break of 18 formed including 4 Agritubel riders, followed by a group of 11 with the other 4 Agris. they all merged at about 75k to go. Nicolas jalabert then took a flyer off the front. After a while Americo Novembrini came across with 4 other Agris, then at about 18k they all managed to drop him and did a TTT to the finish.
Anywhere else that would look suspicious but the rest of the field was much much weaker, and their DS had made it clear that they weren’t to take the day off.
