It's Gav :-)

Though, Chris posts once in a while.

Does that help? I did put in the profile that it’s written by me.

Hm, the profile… heh, ok. :)

There lies the real question.

eeeeeew

Mystery gravy, yuck!

Gavia is Gavia. So simple!

by Jen See on Mar 10, 2009 5:08 PM EDT up reply actions

Gah

You mean there’s more than one of me?

That’s disquieting.

If you had any idea how tempting it is for me to quote various poetic formulas...

…deriving from paranoid schizophrenia and french postmodernism on this subject, you’d be running in fear.

Suffice it to say that we all know that gavia, besides being a mountain in Italy, is all the names in history.

by Ed K on Mar 10, 2009 8:44 PM EDT up reply actions

Imagine how convenient this would be.

While one of me was finishing the totally overdue gossip page, the other could be out surfing, while still another did the laundry. Really, this would be a quite fabulous arrangement. Where do I sign up?

by Jen See on Mar 10, 2009 11:44 PM EDT up reply actions

yeah right

there would just be more of you surfing.

then they'd just be fighting each other for waves.

no this would be a bad thing in the long run I suspect.. Just think who would pull and who would be drafting? So confusing this could become.

by Christopher See on Mar 11, 2009 10:47 AM EDT up reply actions

no, we'd share

One of us could take off deep, the other gets to pick it up inside. Perfect team effort there.

Hmm, the pulling and drafting thing. You’re right. This is getting awfully confusing.

by Jen See on Mar 11, 2009 11:52 AM EDT up reply actions

lol

As long as one of me figures out how to drop into dredging head high barrels, it’ll work out great.

vegan bacon, yuck!

I think you can say the same as some dane (Skibby?) said about Col de la Madeleine

“She’s a tough lady with long legs”

Twitter

So I have used twitter a bit since I’ve seen people on here quoting from posts, mentioning it, etc.

Here’s my questions: How many bloody bikes can Lance have? A new bike for MSR? A track madone? A bike just for NYC?

As someone who spends way too much money on cycling, I’m pretty envious he gets so many bikes (and I realize that if I just won a few Tours people might do the same for me).

by John.. on Mar 10, 2009 4:34 PM EDT reply actions

John, we'll make you a deal.

If you win just one Tour, the Cafe will chip in and buy you the bike of your choice.

You won’t get a better offer anywhere.

"I didn't look for him and I didn't see him. If you base your race on another rider, most of the time you lose."

Tom Boonen

by Drew Davis on Mar 10, 2009 4:56 PM EDT up reply actions

John, be weary of offers like this

This comes from the man who is strongly suspected of spending the last of the PdC petty-cash on a custom Polti-snuggie in honor of his hero Virenque.

Did your favourite rider just win Montepaschi Strade Bianch Eroica Toscana? OK then.

by Jens on Mar 10, 2009 5:07 PM EDT up reply actions

Ja, I was going for wary there actually

Gavia told me to spell it weary.

You cannot stop Gavia,

you can only hope to contain her.

Me?!

I was nowhere near the keyboard at the time. Honest!

Heh.

by Jen See on Mar 11, 2009 11:52 AM EDT up reply actions

Tour...

Very generous – I was trying to think of Tours I could win and the only one I could come with was a Tour of my mind – but that is a risky one as well.

by John.. on Mar 11, 2009 6:42 AM EDT up reply actions

Drew doesn't really say which "Tour", does he?

If I were you I’d arrange a “Tour de la Mon Backyard”, have the neighbours act as timekeeper, post the victory on the internet and claim my bike from Drew.

I hear the Pinarello Prince is liked by many. Get the Super Record and Bora wheels, they look really cool.

I won the Tour de Jimbo's Neighborhood

In fact, I’ve won it 6 years in a row. Nobody else was even close. Please send me a Pinarello, Drewd. I would like either a Prince Carbon in red, or black, but not in the Spanish flag colors, or one of those nice Time bikes. In red.

Oooh a whole neighborhood, that's way bigger than a backyard

I see no reason why Drew shouldn’t get you both the Time and Pina. I really think you should reconsider the red/yellow one though, it is very nice.

Gentlemen, Gentlemen, no need to worry

There are enough bicycles for all. Why, I just put one into and envelope and sent it to Jimbo. You should recieve it in 4-6 days.

I'd be willing to come over and be second place

strictly in the interest of fair competition of course. Shall I bring beer or chips? I could also just photo the event for documentation sake.

I could officiate it to help make it legit.

what else do we need? Oh promises of live video feeds that fail to come to fruition…
Nikki, will you hold my musette in the feed zone please? It’s the one with the chili dog and the frosty cold beer. The ice cream is for post race, I might need help with that too.

by Christopher See on Mar 11, 2009 4:01 PM EDT up reply actions

I so got ya covered. Would you like any beer or dollar primes?

I think I could manage a couple of those too. :-)

And I hadn’t thought about drinking the beer, THEN doing a dollar prime for the riders. ha ha. (….must make notes for this fall!)
